No hate for the new group. But success as a player doesn't always translate to coaching. 

 

This team need major surgery. Bruce had one of the highest winning % as a head coach. He knows how to win.  

 

The current roster needs major surgery. I don't want to see a bump this season. Just get a high pick.

Totally gone because Rutherford has not just completely surrounded himself, management and the on ice staff with members of his old staff and teammates which in no way resembles an old boys club and country club type atmosphere

Well to be fair, I do also find it kind of ironic that this is the same fanbase that ruthlessly chants out things such as "fire gilllis" or "fire benning" at games but all of a sudden get sympathetic with Bruce.

 

However, I think a lot of people were just so emotionally invested in the situation especially since it had been dragging on for so long.

The way it was handled to brought along a lot of sympathy because of the human side of things and you could tell this was really hard on Bruce. 

 

Hard to find a coach that could be so personable and passionate that this fanbase collectively seems to get behind even amidst a bad record.

I don't think anyone is against the actual firing decision per say, but the way it happened irked a lot of fans.

Want to add that Rutherford should have kept his frustrations under wraps.  Beaking off to the media and After Hours should never have happened

Honestly, why would we not just ride out the year with Bruce? We’re losing so well right now. Even if we don’t get Bedard, surely we’ll get some nice pieces to build with. Can’t wait to go on a 15 win streak and end up 5 points out of a playoff spot

Just like JR, the three coaches has the resume and we will see how they will have the roster playing, as a group ..

Who? FA has child abuse charges against him that have yet to be proven (or disproved) in family courts - as such he's 'accused' at this point.

The whole organization is mired in mediocrity right now and plenty of fans are embarrassed by the tone deaf decisions this management has made. 

Yeah and that’s fair, but most wanted change, now have it, and are pissed because it wasn’t the change they wanted or handed on a silver platter.

 

there was/is a lot of work to be done between the past and present regimes, bottled up in transition, and now we finally get to see what’s involved and transpires.
