Ask yourself why this might happen…especially when mgmt initially indicated off the hop this club was not good enough to compete in the playoffs, devoid of top drawer prospects and picks…and all the while we’re in an amazing draft year.  It’s about finding opportunity through decomposition. Ugly and smelly, but like a dying salmon at the end of its spawning cycle, new life will form from the decay.

I put the whole Boudreau saga on Aquilini.  He never wants to make a change to an important management piece unless he has a replacement fully vetted and ready to step in.  FA reportedly flew to Vegas last week to meet with Tocchet.  He's given approval and Rutherford pulled the trigger within a week.

That's not fair. If people are starting to waiver in their support now, I don't blame them. It's been 10 rough years of losing hockey and fans stuck it out even though the product often wasn't worth the price of admission. But if the final straw if the management acting like dirtbags to a man who is a fundamentally good person, I think it's fine to not feel comfortable supporting that.

 

People shouldn't be treated like how they treated Bruce.

we’ve had many many years of a roster constructed by JB. And it failed unfortunately. Let’s see what other viewpoints can bring to the table.

It’s all good to be emotional so long as you don’t lose focus of how poor this team really has been for so long.

I am a big fan of Bruce and super sad to see him go. I get it..with the continue lost every game, mgmt had to do something. And the easiest route is to fire the coach first. In the last 8yrs, the Canucks has been a soft team to play against..bringing in gritty hard working tough guys like Tocchet and Foote might change the atmosphere and culture of the team. So I will give them the benefit of a doubt and see how they do!! Gonchar is definitely a great pick up since our D really sucks and they need some good guidance in how to play a proper defensive game. 

 

All the best to Bruce and I am sure another team will take him on as there aren't many great coach like him in the league anymore!!

Maybe jumping onto the lifeboats is self-presevervation. You can brag about going down with the ship. Ever thought that as much as we love the team, this is too much B.S. for two seasons in a row for some to handle?
