Popular Post DSVII
Thanks Bruce for giving us that glint of hope for last year. It was great having fun cheering for wins again. Popular Post Mando27
Wish nothing but the best for Bruce. He was never given much to work with by the clowns in the FO.
DownUndaCanuck
Might go down as one of the best Canucks coaches of all time and he was only here a year and never really won anything. Insane. AV took us to a cup final, Crawford pulled us through a fair bit but neither got as much love as Bruce has. Tells you how much the fans appreciate a cheery, funny guy. I was always an AV fan but it's a different love for Bruce, especially after this victimisation. He won't be long out of a job if that's what he wants, hope he takes the rest of the season off and after the coach carousel at the end of the year he ends up on a playoff team again.
NUCKER67
All the best in your next coaching job Bruce, thanks for the memories and your fun-loving positive attitude. As he once said himself "Bruce, there he goes" 1
404error
Thank you Bruce for everything that you did for this team, this city, and the game itself. I'm sorry you were treated so unprofessionally by a crew of incompetents. JR is little more than a collection of senior moments at this stage while Aqualini is a human dumpster fire. Good luck in whatever it is you do next!! You deserve the best of everything.
Popular Post -DLC-
Cheers to Bruce! He made this game fun again, at a time when we were feeling like we were being run over by a dump truck. That then put it in reverse. Lowest low and here came this smiling, pleasant man who wasn't deterred by it all. Stepped in and provided much needed reassurance and a sense of calmness in the storm. He inspired the boys and motivated them when they had lost all confidence...that was the first step. Before you can jump in and "coach" you have to connect and get the team's interest/ears. Establish trust. Had he run out of tricks to pull from his hat? Maybe. But his sample size was very small, especially considering that goaltending was one and done this year for the most part. He didn't have the tools in the roster to offset that. He also had assistants who maybe were not providing adequate support and doing their parts (PK was awful, d was awful) Not sure it was all on the guy who had others in place to identify and address those specific needs. Who knows what went on behind the scenes? (His players, that's who...and they seemed on board with him). I feel like this was drawn up long ago and he was gone the minute some new personnel came on board with their ideas (and friends) in place. They seized the opportunity as the team spiralled downward. Happens...coaches are the first in the line of fire but it's generally done more tactfully and offers dignity to the outgoing coach. Thank God our fans stepped up to offer that. Fond memories...my new favourite coach. No matter what, he was a good man and used humour at times when there was nothing to smile about. Took it all on the chin like a champ. Wish him the very best and hope to see him continuing in this league. Will always cheer him on. He's a good man and deserves a chance to be fully appreciated. 3
Popular Post EB43
Bruce is such a likeable character with such a great persona. I wish him all the best in his life and career moving forward and I truly hope he was able to teach the young Canucks how to be better on a personal level, not everyone lives as happily as Bruce. Shame on management for their treatment towards him. This forum is where my loyalty ends, no more of my money will go towards this organization.
Ghostsof1915
I doubt Scotty Bowman in his prime could have fixed this team. Thank you Bruce. You deserved a more professional send off. I'll be worried if you take a job with Arizona. But then you might like it. At least the Coyotes like to work.

Popular Post Eddie
Thank you Bruce, You were a high spot in a very dark period for this franchise. It was unfortunate the management group was not able to bring in the players and assistants to support you in continuing the great work you did last year. You deserved a lot better than this !! All the best in your future endeavors - Bruce There It Is !! 2
cripplereh
Thanks Bruce you had class here and did the best job you could. I wish last tdl and the off-season the management could have got you better players to win with but that's on them. All the best in the future.
Solinar
Thank you, Bruce. You were the coach I wanted for this team when Travis Green's future was basically known. You took a team that was plummeting and brought us within points of the playoffs. A dysfunctional, poorly built, poorly contracted team with no identity, put them and us on your shoulders and almost willed us to the promise land. Then management came out, said they don't like what you do, how you do it, and didn't want you here. Then let you hang out to dry with their choices, roster, and opinions with your heir in the wings. No thank you, to management, ownership, and the dysfunctionality we've had to deal with as fans. We're the problem, the media is the problem, Bruce is the problem. No, just no. The problem is no plan 2.0, the problem is the awful way you run things and treat people. The problem....is you! And until you realize it, no matter how much you try, no matter what you do, nothing will ever be fixed around here. Good luck, and I'm sure we'll treat the new coach with the same class and respect you gave OUR last one.

van_ws
I have nothing but respect for what Bruce has given to this team. He was professional and was all class, despite the horrible situation he was in. Management did not do enough to support him and didn't give him much to work with. I hope he gets a shot with another team as I thought he deserved better. Even if it was only a year, Bruce will always be fondly remembered by the fanbase. When it comes to this group of players, I sure hope they feel bad about getting 2 coaches fired in less than 2 full seasons. They have no one else to blame but themselves. The effort and overall play is nowhere near good enough. I still think the problem is not the coaching but the players themselves. 1
