Canucks are going to lose 12 - 0 and Ryan Miller will finish the game playing Goal. It's going to be so embarrassing that they fire Tocchet before midnight and Aqualini hands Rutherford a sword and tells him to fall on it..... ;)

Seriously though, I don't really want to do a prediction tonight as Chicago HAS been playing well lately, and it really depends on how settled the team is after the events of the last few days. Will they be able to drown out the background noise and focus or will they still be feeling all the turmoil and mixed feelings about Boudreau leaving and how it was done.

Again, popcorn in hand...

Word on the street is Tocchet sleeps with Connor Bedard pajamas.

You can't tell me this team isn't tanking when they continue to start two AHL goalies. If they truly wanted to win as many games as possible they would have signed an NHL goaltender to fill the void by by now.

I totally agree the organization should be working on goalies even if Demko miraculously got better its not enough right now.

Too soon. This coaching change should have been held for a couple weeks before the TDL.  We now have a team that can make a run and blow this whole drafting opportunity into garbage. There is no way we are making the playoffs. Terrible timing

Two weeks before the TDL is nowhere near enough time for the head coach to decide who is buying into the new culture, and who isn't.

We're still holding Demko back till the all-star break. Still have a terrible d-corps. I personally don't think piling up wins with this roster is even possible.

Ideally this move could have happened a month earlier when we were hovering around .500 but either ownership wasn't ready to pull the plug or there were complications with Tocchet TNT contract.

We were never going to finish bottom 3. We will still finish bottom 10. Either way we have a shot at Bedard.

I think it's important to manage morale and culture as much as it's important to manage wins/losses.

I think Tocchet will do wonders for this team. We're lazy, poor habited, have barely been held accountable, and quite frankly - broken. Tocchet is going to build a complete team with good habits out of this disaster.

I'm not worried about the tank/winning games because I think lots of players on this team are going to get "cut" because they can't fit into Tocchet's system and aren't willing to make the sacrifices needed to be a winner. There is too much 'fluff' on this team to be a winner. I also like how Tocchet mentioned hockey IQ and quickness can put you on top. Too many poor decision makers on this team, and we're about to see who just has poor habits and who actually just sucks.

Someone posted earlier about this being a "terrible time for a coaching change", but I disagree. It's the perfect time for the new coaching staff to assess what works and what doesn't. Just enough time before the TDL to move some players who don't fit, and enough time for the guys who will be staying to learn new systems and what the expectations will be going forward.

This is chapter one of a new book for this team.

I agree, its going to take time before drafting, the minor league team and the big club are all on the same page. I see this as the first chapter of this book as well. Weed out the broken parts and rebuild from there.
