I see bettman took a couple hits of meth before talking. Trying to say tanking isn't a thing and why would someone do it lmfao. Didn't things change first because Buffalo tried soooo hard to get mcdavid?? Now AZ, CHI, ANA, SJ, CLB are all losing on purpose... even MTL is coming out and saying they are tanking while trying to tell MSL to lose on purpose.

Then you got us and the flyers who SHOULD be on that group of tankers but we are the worst ran franchises soo...

That's 1/4 of the league who are essentially tanking buddy

If they really want to stop tanking, just make picks 1 to 10 an even lottery for the bottom 10 teams.

The team between the bottom 10 and playoffs are probably not tanking anyways.

I think it the misinterpretation of team tanking vs players tank.

No player tanks. They try to win every game. Managers tank. They purposely ice sh!t teams making it practically a miracle to get wins

Yep of course they do... its their lively hood that is at stake... They have to put themselves in the shopping window, in case they get dumped.

Anaheim will finish their rebuild before we start ours

I have n worries about Anaheim e er building a winner.  They have the most selfish “look at me go mommy” player in the league as their centre piece.  No team can win with that guy.

You also have tp keep in mind that Dach probably don't want to stay for 6 years for a rebuild if he is as good as you say.

Since when do 22 year olds get to demand things? He hadn’t proven anything yet…

He would stay because they’d lock him in long term.

Something tells me drafting Bedard would have changed his feelings too.

Hoping they lose badly! (They probably won't and shouldn't given how bad Chicago is).     We DO NOT NEED ANY MORE POINTS!

Come on now RU.  No losing badly...just the usual scoring lots of goals and losing by 1.  Bruce...there it is!

All depends on what the definition means to the individual honestly

JR said we aren’t rebuilding.  Our owner has never allowed a trade of a key core player, who is in his prime.

Locking him long term is not a guarantee and in today's environment, players even in rfa have a lot of power in where they go.

This ain't the nhl if yesteryear. It is trending heavily toward the nba.

Secondly, if he is still with the Hawks, they might not be in their leading position to get Bedard. Dach don't exist in a vacuum there unless he got a season ending injury.

Yes Alf, because you're absolutely known for objective takes on other teams

Yeah but what does it actually mean. I think it’s just means they aren’t trading Pettersson and Hughes. That’s pretty much about it

Or they should make it so anyone who wins a top 3 pick cannot do so again for another 3 years or so.    How is it fair ny and nj constantly won top 3 picks year after year

I would like them to do away with the lottery

I am miffed that so many people accept it

I have thought for a long time restricting teams ability to draft 1st more than once in a 5 year period would be more helpful in dissuading the tank

If teams could not draft in the same spot  (in the top 5) twice in a 5 year period, eventually tank teams would  be moved into the 6-10 spots

without negatively affecting the teams that are just bad but not awful

Maybe?  But I’m thinking it means we aren’t trading anyone from our key core five.

Well great, I’d prefer to keep Bo but I just can’t see it

i really wish Bruce could have just stayed on til the end of the year.  I honestly think he'd have wanted to if given the choice, even if his firing was already decided.

Then we'd definitely still be scrambling around in our own zone, and swallowing 5 goals a game and sliding closer to Bedard every game.

This is a lose lose now.

If Tocchet pokes the team into performing above the level they have been defensively.  Probably unsustainable with players trying to impress, but enough to push us out of a bottom 10 finish.  Lose

if Tocchet tries his best, system after system tweeks, then screams, then bag skates, then benchings, and the team still is allowing more goals than most any other team, then it doesn't bode well for Tocchet being the solution, and we will all know he has at least 2 more seasons here.

Obviously even if that second thing happened, next season would entail whatever JR does for the defense at the TD and the post season, and also Tocchet would have more experience with this group and have a better sense on what is needed.  But if he doesn't have much success in the next 4 months, It still won't be a great omen.

So I don't know if I want to cheer for Tocchet to be a raving success or not.  :(

This has got to be one of worst times to be a fan.

I think they're deciding between Kuzmenko at 6 vs Bo at 8.5 right now
