He was probably hoping to get traded to a contender not the Islanders lol. At least he will get his big pay day. That rumoured 7.5x7 offer seems very fair. I wonder how much Bo is involved in these contract talks or is it strictly his agent.

hopefully gets 8-8.5 cause 7.5 im sure the nucks could of matched and figure it out TDL and summer trades

How many of you would trade Demko right now for a 2023 top 10 unprotected draft pick?

if they said we were rebuilding i'd be all for it but seems there gunna try and retool and hopefully make alot of trades ect coming up.

I think I agree with you but lets look at your premise and put it on a scale.  If you were to trade Demko for an unprotected 1st rounder, which team would you cut it off at? (Given the current standings and assuming the trade happened today)  CBJ at the bottom of the pile has the highest value pick while BOS currently has the lowest value pick.

The only teams I can think of that'd maybe trade a 1st round pick, and maybe leave it unprotected, and are actually kinda mid, AND actually want a goalie are Edmonton and Pittsburgh. Edmonton is 6th in the West and Pittsburgh are 8th in the East. And even then I doubt Pittsburgh does it. Goaltending isn't an issue this year so much as it will be next year. People are thinking Jarry will want 6+mil. At least I recall Friedman or Dhaliwal say that. Demko won't move the needle for them this year. Not enough to risk a Bedard pick.

Demko would move the needle for Edmonton. McJesus is scoring at a historic rate. Get a semi not terrible goalie and they are pretty deadly. Stuart Skinner is playing decent, but Demko is proven. And Campbell is a sieve. The real question mark is health. So for this I am assuming Demko is healthy enough to play.

I don’t think we can get that return for Demko, but that’s what it would take for me to be okay with trading our most important player, which (IMHAO) he is.

Nowadays he isn’t our most important player.

Both he and Marky has their athletic goalie style going and it seems that kind of goalie tend to be injuryprone.

Marke probably struggles with the Flames so much because of injuries making his muscles not doing what he wants.

Demko seems to have the same problem.

Nah , he hated Willie D almost as much as I hated Willie D..    and there’s nothing wrong with that,  he’ll love Gonchar,. And Foote.

see , trade Horvat and the Universe lines up in favour of the Canucks

I would think the Canucks would not get in a bidding war for him, it would have to be him approaching the Canucks if anything if he wanted to return here, and then doubtful he likes the contract unless if something cheaper 1 yr like Kuz took

He’ll sign elsewhere.

I hope Horvat tests free agency. Not to screw the Islanders or make our ‘win’ more satisfying. Because he genuinely seems like good person with a solid moral compass. Husband, father, go ahead and get a dozen offers in the summer and pick the best one for you and your wife. Godspeed Bo

Name does match the content of the post. Who are you and what have you done with the actual owner of that account?

I wouldn’t pay anything over 7.5, even then…Isles aren’t that team so I don’t see him taking anything low there.

My guess is he would love to stay in Canada unless he gets way more in the states.

If a team like the laughs or Montreal have the money could see him there.

I think he does go for the big money on a team that looks like they can win it all.

That’s logical.  I was more asking hypothetically.  Assume every single team is willing to give up their pick straight up for Demko.  Which team would you cut it off at?

Nope; it would still be 16th and that is way better than 32nd, 31st, 30th, 29th that the top teams are going to be able to offer.

NYI will also have quite a lot of difficulty 'sneaking into the playoffs' and they still have not signed Bo and may re-trade him.

They have to beat out all the other teams hoping for a wildcard spot, and then win a couple rounds against some of the toughest competition in the league.

if they get into the playoff they'll likely be ahead of the 2 wild card teams in the west that makes them minimum 18th.. and unless the team you traded to are conference finalist and up.. u ain't picking 29-32.. while boston and carolina looks great.. they ain't a lock their goaltending is still questionable carolina can't stay healthy ullmark is playing well above expectation. any team can get knocked out in the 1st round in the east. really its' just penguins caps and panthers they have to beat out for the 2 wildcard spot. i dont' expect buffalo is going to be there.. depending what washington do, islanders roster wise with the addition of bo already looks better than washington and florida.

LOL Miller does not "cost us games"

He is now, by my calculations, 11 points ahead of a point per game pace since his arrival.  Consistency is a huge factor as well for him.

Good signing. Just stop it with the anti Miller BS. At the very least you'd think Canuck fans would wish him well here. Because if he's a success, so is the team.

IF the Canucks were able to not lose games after giving up 5 goals, then I'd agree that the PPG matters. Unfortunately, he's been terrible defensively, so it offsets his offensive production and frankly yes has cost Canucks games.

I'd happy for him to be a success, but he's got to get make smarter passing decisions and get back on plays.

The Canucks shouldn't have signed him for such a long contract, so it's not just his defensive play that's the issue, it's that long term contracts like his have been an albatross on the Admin's necks.

I’ve been there but only travelled through Long Island. It’s hard to tell one jurisdiction from the next. For me it was all urban sprawl

I lived in a duplex right on the ocean with a roommate in Long Beach. Late night train rides to the city that never sleeps were epic. Further out on Long Island is where the real money is with huge estates and beautiful small towns. Much of it is urban sprawl as you say.

It'll be too costly for OEL, Miller perhaps but as you said, it'll cost.
And finally Myers may represent some value next TDL, or just let his contract run down.
Benning tried to get rid of unwanted contracts 1 year prior to them running out, and we ended up with OEL...

please lets not do this ever again.
1 more year and Myers and Pearson or gone, it will start to open up for us then.

It is a tricky situation, but we also have to consider how many years of having bad players taking spots where good players could play.

But yes, let's not get in a worse mess.
