SilentSam
@Crabcakes I found this clip of Raty interesting as well, This was the season just before the draft. The Year they draft is an important year to watch because they’re playing with their peers, and more importantly, should be showing all the qualities they “project” to be, as they repeat the process to the professional level. Most begin that new trajectory with a new team or franchise , whether in the NHL or not. I think Raty has all the qualities of a better pick than what he was, and it seems there may have been other set-backs to effect him. good skater , great shot, mobile, head is up. I think he is possibly our best forward prospect at this moment , and getting him to Abby is going to be great for them. espescially the teamates he’ll have in Podz Klimo, Hogz, Amman, and others . an interesting, or outstanding stat to note is that in 12 nhl games , he has taken 67 face offs , and has a 52% win average . that is impressive.

To just squeak into the playoffs they’ll realistically need 96 points based on past Eastern Conference standings. That means they’d have to go something like 19-8-3. That’s a points % of .683. Only three teams in the entire league currently have a points percentage higher than that. Lou ain’t stupid he knows it’s a long shot. Is this all about saving his job and planning for next season? Or is the plan to just flip Bo at the deadline and try and get better assets back? If Bo walks to UFA, where do we think he ends up signing? My top 4 guesses are WPG, BOS, COL or DAL. My very dark horses are OTT, PHI, or TOR (if they can strategically clear cap)

Or is the plan to just flip Bo at the deadline and try and get better assets back? If he's as ballsy as I think he is it could be a bit of both. If the Isles can heat up he might just let them go for it, trying to sell Bo on a team that could be an improved product with him in the fold. If they stumble he could simply retain 50% of Bo's deal could he not? On top of what we're retaining? I haven't seen too many Isles fans torn up about Beauvillier, some have argued he was a camp dump of sorts, they're mostly upset about Raty and the 1st. But if Lou turns around and sells Bo at a lower cost they could arguably bring back a better return than we did, particularly if Bo keeps scoring. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Coconuts
Lou acquiring Bo to supposedly gun for the playoffs and then calling a spade a spade and selling him for a better price than he paid would go a long ways towards securing both his job and the appreciation of Isles fans. He could say he tried going for it but it didn't work and still come out ahead.
Pure961089
The last time the Canucks were in a position like this was 2015. When we drafted Virtanen and McCann. Let’s hope we draft better this time. Kinda freakin’ out here because Harvey hasn’t really given me a lot of confidence in his drafting ability. Lekkerimaki has been a disaster. Let’s be honest. So there’s cause to be concerned. So there’s cause to be concerned. The best way to avoid a disaster, is to stop bringing it from the past to the present. All of these changes should be looked at positively, because change brings new opportunities. I like what management has done this season.. Kuzmenko, Ilya, Bear , Dermott, Strudnicka, Beauville, a 1st, Raty , Karlsson in Abby with Podz and Hogz. D man Petterson is a gem. There’s a lot of positive moves for what we’ve given up . We aren’t the only team facing issues like we have.. but we are being as proactive as we can at a time that’s not going to hinder us coming out set for a new season.. and for that , maybe we’re ahead of the game. The Draft is an entity all its own,. It takes time for those picks to get a new trajectory going in their professional career.. sure there’s the “generational”s but that’s not every season. The next draft is supposed to be thick with talent, but still it’s hockey and anything can happen.

Then is interested in coming back to the NHL now that he can sign with anyone, yeah clearly Vancouver is his target.
