Does this trade look like a win boys?!  Would have been stoked to also have another 1st, Lundqvist and that Chytil guy right about now.  We would seriously be trending the right direction!

NYR first last year versus the future first. Miller vs Horvat.   AB and Raty versus Lundqvist and Chytill.    And what it means to for tanking for this years first or not tanking.   Last night if Horvat was on the ice instead of Miller when cousin did his dirty work and fled...well 8.5 years of skating away was also part of the elephant.

The most bizarre thing is that we've won pretty much every faceoff match up since Bo's trade. Wonder what that's about. Miller and Petey have really stepped it up. Makes no sense.

We're still a dreadful team but Petey and Miller have elevated their game since Bo left which is no surprise, and you could argue that Beauvillier is replacing his scoring.

After 7 games (short sample)

Bo (27) - 3 goals 1 assist = 4 pts

Beau (25) - 4 goals 2 assists = 6 pts

Plus they gave the Canucks Raty and a 1st?

Excellent trade, really liking the chemistry with Petey.

Petey is a man on a mission. Love this new belly fire he has found. Makes everyone around him better.

That 1 time slapper just prior to the first goal was a great example of his growing confidence. You can't tell me that Hart wasn't stunned by that blast.

Also out hitting him too. Which apparently Islanders fans are pretty choked with Bo over his lack of physicality

Makes me wonder if Horvat will struggle with the Islanders, never really living up to the expectations considering how much they re-signed him for and gave up to get him. The eastern conference is tough and physical, with teams like Boston, Washington and the rival Rangers. Bo is a very solid guy (has he ever really been injured?), so you'd think he'd be a wrecking ball, but he plays a nice, fair game. Doesn't want to mess up his face if he wants to make more commercials with McDavid. I can see Islanders fans becoming impatient and their team missing the playoffs.

Who knows, Lou might want to get this nightmare trade over with and behind them by giving VAN the 1st this year, even if they finish 10th. Canucks could possibly have two picks in the Top 10.

A durable and steady 3-1-4 with a billion face off wins in 7 games… *squints* yep… no doubt about it.  That’s Bo Horvat.

Id expect a bit higher PPG over the rest of the season but that’s the player we’ve seen in Vancouver the past near-decade. Nothing wrong with it either as a 2C.

As for Beau, I’m not holding my breath that he’s a PPG guy but another serviceable winger just means we need to sell on whoever has the highest value.  If we had to take cap back, I’m glad it’s for a guy who’s producing and fitting in with the locker room well.

Petey and Miller go about it in very different ways but do share the fact that they want to succeed and put a lot of pressure on themselves to make it happen.

If Mikheyev is going to play with Petey next year, they need to find Miller a good two-way winger to help him one defensively - like how Pearson and him really worked well together last season.
