PunjabiCanucks
Kings need goaltending moving forward , especially if they want to make a run. Ducks are still rebuilding and aren't a contender anytime soon. Gibson is stuck on the Ducks for 4 more years and is in his prime being wasted away in the Ducks system. LA receives: Gibson Anaheim Receives Cal Petersen at 3 more years. 2023 1st rd pick unprotected Conditional 3rd pick based on playoff success
Phil_314
Could see that happening (though maybe Anaheim doesn't want to trade him within the division? I'm not familiar with their front office). That would be a reasonable return for him IMO, they'd definitely take futures to take on a dead weight contract.
NUCKER67
Yes, but...how does this help the Canucks?
mll
Copley is 17-3-1. LA is not expected to make a goalie move this TDL per LeBrun, Pagnotta, Hoven etc. Some reports even have them still believing in Petersen. Can't see Gibson being worth that kind of assets either and he's also far too expensive for LA's cap situation. LA also don't see themselves as contenders just yet. DownUndaCanuck
I think Anaheim will want to build around Gibson, especially if they snag Bedard, they may be ready to make a surprising playoff push next year or the year after that, so they'll want him on board.
