Maybe it’s so he doesn’t have to go through waivers later. Suprised Raty is getting a call 1 1 2

Yes, he did....maybe JR and the gang feel they can't implement a proper tank with (movable) guys excelling in their roles 1
Popular Post nuckin_futz
’I’ve been playing horrible’: Aatu Räty speaks about his slow start with the Abbotsford Canucks He has just one point over his first eight games with the Abbotsford Canucks in the AHL after tallying 15 points in 27 games with the Bridgeport Islanders before he was traded. We caught up with Räty just minutes after his line was on the ice for three goals against in a 7-2 loss to the San Jose Barracuda on Monday afternoon. Our first question was about how he believes his first eight games as a Canuck have gone. “Not great so far,” said Räty. “I’ve been playing horrible. I hope it’s going to get better. I mean, I’m trying my best every game and trying to work hard.” We followed up by asking him if it’s been tough going through the whirlwind of being traded and getting used to a new organization, new city, and new teammates. He simply said, “yes”. And the interview was over. ***************** Insert tank emoji.

Nuckin Kingsly
Hmm, haven’t watched any of Raty, but the management stated a few times a player needs to earn his place to be a call up? To ensure their success. Raty has admittedly said he hasn’t played good. I also think PDG has played decent, this one has caught me off guard. Hope it works out for the kid tho! CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Is waivers still active after the trade deadline? Perhaps he comes back up after that? He has played well and deserves a longer look. I'd imagine they keep him there in Abbotsford to qualify for the playoffs roster (I assume they will paper down Podkolzin, Raty, Brisebois, and Silovs as well on trade deadline day to help qualify them for the AHL playoffs too).
