Pettersson, Miller, Kuzmenko, Hughes plus a couple of others, played their butts off. How can that be discouraged?

I know everyone wants Bedard, and I would absolutely love that.. but it's highly unlikely, even if we were dead last.

Hell, I ran the sim 25 times yesterday, and Philadelphia won the lottery 9 times. We won it once, and Anaheim won in twice. Not great odds no matter where you end up, it's a lottery.

Plus, offense is not this teams problem at all. Defense is, so if we end up picking in the 5-10 range we might get a player who helps with that.

Bedard will go to one of the US cities.

You're welcome to disagree, I just don't see it. McDavid is in a tier of his own as far as current players go.

We'll see.

Hank won the Art Ross at age 29.  Petey still has a few years. Are you thinking that McDavid will continue to win the Art Ross for the rest of his career?  Not even Gretzky was able to do that. Everyone slows down after awhile or gets injured.

Heck, Bedard might be the one who wins the Art Ross next.  We shall see…

Dammit! With a home town generational player up for grabs this coming draft, and being just on the brink of a good shot, it makes it so $%$#$#% frustrating to be a fan right now and being able to celebrate a win.  To celebrate this gift we have in Pettersson.

Can't wait until we get to see Petey in the playoffs again.

We need to healthy scratch Petey and Kuz but don't think we can get away with that...

We ain't the Bruins after all.

Maybe not the rest of his career, but til his skating begins to go? Yeah, there's absolutely a chance he keeps it going til then. There's nobody else in the league with his combination of skill and speed.

I'm not an Oilers fan, they're tied for my least favourite team alongside Toronto, but McDavid's talent is undeniable.

Lemieux won the Art Ross while Gretzky was still in his prime.  McDavid could miss a few games through injury. Who knows if Draisaitl will stick around in 3 years. They might not be able to afford him.

McDavid needs to miss more than a few games to be completely out of the running. Even if he plays half a season, he’ll still probably be able to get 100 points.

I really wish nhl just switch to an even lottery for picks 1 to 10 for the bottom 10 teams so we don't have to do this cheer for your team to lose thing.

I think the tanking may will even get worse with the mid level teams in April like Nashville Blues (not sure about the Canucks though as I can not recall ever tanking)  - this is what happens when the NHL brainstorms it and decides to limit the draw to the top 11. By early April, the Blues and any other teams close the cutoff will be "fighting" out the 1tth position for the chance.  Bettman and the NHL may have to look at the whole process - make it all non playoff teams but weighted very heavily for the lower teams.

He’s on pace for 150 points, not 200.  He’ll get 75-80 points in half a season. Petey has one more gear in my opinion. With a bit more talent around him and with Kuzy by his side he could be a 120 point player.
