Allvin has 8 missed calls already from JR telling him to claim his boy. He’s got negative value. Not by a lot though reminds me of Beauvillier. Hindsight is a benefit to be sure, Rutherford's moves are a mixed bag. The Pearson trade is another example, as was signing Jack Johnson who they wound up having to buy out. It's a good bit of balance to those who wave the flag of our supposed super management group.
Mike Vanderhoek
Kind of a shame the team has to potentially move off a 26 year old who has NHL game but needs a new start because Jeff Carter is tied up in a NMC for this and next season. Carter sounds like he is done, perhaps he retires in the not too distant future.

I think JR's connections and clout within the league is a great thing for Allvin as he navigates his way through being a General Manager in this league. I think Allvin learning from JR but being a patient, calculated GM is huge.

I think JR's in over his head, took him an entire year to realize the organization and roster weren't where he thought it was when some of us, as fans, saw it last season. We'll see what else happens under his tenure.
Screw
I also heard speculation that Burke likes Schenn for Pitt as he feels they need more truculence.
CR7
Not sure what people think is so wrong with Kapanen. He's never been anything more than a fringe top 6 player with speed. Decent on the PK, that's about it. I'd take him to help out the PK, not at 3.2M but if we were in a better spot cap wise I'd do this. At least he's free and not part of a Boeser trade

We'll see what else happens under his tenure. Could be my inner sheep here but I have liked Allvin so far. JR did explain in detail his observation of and the issues plaguing the team from his first press conferences. He even made it clear from the beginning the type of coaching and systems the team needed in order to build a successful team, and it wasn't having Boudreau or the team relying on Demko. He coming into the organization near the halfway mark of the season indicated the defense needed work as well but would give everyone a chance to be re-evaluated. The fans always know the best, right and proper way to go about the business of running an NHL club and without fail will always know better than NHL members when it comes to player valuations. Executives just work in real time not on emotion. I give Rutherford/Allvin a mixed review on their follow through to date, for those that cared to listen from the beginning they have been steadfast in their message and upfront ( to a fault ), there have been no surprises I don't think as of yet. 1

Coconuts
Hard to say whether Kapanen puts it together somewhere else. From what I've read of him from Leafs fans he'd put up chance after chance on the third line and then fizzle out once placed in their top six. Pens fans say there's little redeeming about his game besides his speed. Some would be surprised if he's claimed. Not really interested in taking on a project who'll be 27 in July with another year at 3.2M on his deal unless Boeser's header their way and their 1st is headed ours.
ilduce39
I think someone said to just circle back in the offseason once Pitt buys him out. As much as we could use some more speed, now is certainly not the time to claim - yet another - winger and chew up 3 mil in cap space.
Canucks-12
I think Kapanen will be claimed by someone below the Canucks
