When i look at a Kane trade, you have to consider that pushing the trade through is great for both CHI and NY. it's in both their interests to see this trade happen, so Canucks should be ale to squeeze more out of both teams. Example, instead of a 5th rounder from NY, NY gives canucks a 3rd round, and CHI gives NY a 4th round to offset them giving up a 3rd. Thats how I would approach this. Get both teams to share the cost of retention. 2

A 29 year old right handed defenseman who plays nowhere near his size, and whose overall talent seems to be diminishing. Seems very similar to Myers these days, with the exception of the fact that Parayko has won the Cup. 2 1

I think the 'Canes will look at what the other contending Eastern teams are doing and decide they better make some kind of deal. Boeser / Garland have some term and are under 30 but Waddell has stated trades are made in the offseason. Demko is another possibility though i doubt they do this for the playoffs, maybe offseason once their 2 starters are ufa.

Trebreh
Parayko is washed… unless we’re sending OEL back in the trade, I see no upside in trading for him. 3

Thought the plan was Kocketkov to be their starter next season or at least get near half the games - they've already signed him to an extension. They didn't want to carry 3 goalies so once Andersen was off IR they sent him to the AHL because he's waiver free but he's expected to get the bulk of games. Would expect them to bring in a veteran goalie to share the net. Demko seems more suited for a team that needs a number 1. McGinn has a 2.75M cap hit so 1.625M would still be on the books if he clears. Edited February 28 by mll
