  1. Exactly. He's a Canuck now whether people are happy about it or not. How about everyone stop complaining and start rooting for this kid to do well? It's like looking at the proverbial glass filled halfway: is it half full? Or half empty? I'm going to think it's half full.
  2. Don't know enough about the draft picks (outside of the top 4) to have any strong opinion on this. Hometown kid. Hope he does well. Welcome to Hell Vancouver, Jake!
  3. I don't want LA to win the cup this year - but certainly not San Jose. Would serve the Sharks right for some of their more blatant fish flopping on the ice antics last year and this year. All teams do it (including LA) but San Jose's, to me, are the most blatant.
  4. If the Sharks lose, the kings will be, what? The fourth team ever to comeback from a 0-3 deficit? Come on LA, make it 4 :D
  5. I dislike both teams. However, after SJ's horrible 'crybaby' & epic diving routine in the last playoffs, I'm feeling a bit vindictive. San Jose Chokes! Go LA!!
  6. Well, I look at it this way: We lose, we get a higher draft pick :D We win, slim chance to make playoffs. Either or, for me. Though at this point in the season, I'd prefer a higher draft pick.
  7. Like others have said - surprised this day finally happened. Not sure if happy with this trade (in terms of what we got back) but I am sad to see Lou go. So... firesale?
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we have 7 defencemen on tonight? - Bieksa - Hamhuis -Garrison -Tanev - Edler - Stanton - Weber I swear I've seen all of them on the ice tonight. Am I seeing things?
  9. I saw that as well. His reaction was probably the same expression everyone listening to Grapes talk was wearing. +
  10. Just listening to HNIC (Montreal/Toronto game) - Grapes says Vancouver will 'be alright' (re: slump) and expects Vancouver to be in the finals?! *howls* Well, I and every Canuck fan would LOVE that - but doubt it this year. As for this game? Praying for a win tonight - 4-2 Canuck win; if not, expect a 3-1 loss.
  11. What the frack is THIS?!?! Before last night, I had never seen a 7 min penalty - now we have a 5-on-3 for 7 min?!?!
  12. At this point, we could have a 5-on-3 (or several) and still not score. *shakes head* Might as well go do something else. This team is done for the night. *sigh*
  13. Seriously? Did Kassian get ANOTHER 10 min penalty? For what?
  14. This has been something that has been prominent in the Canucks game this year - unable to hold onto leads. This game, obviously, was the most glaring of examples. This team is playing themselves out of a playoff spot. And at this point? I kind of hope they do. They don't have the firepower to beat elite teams (Pitts, Chicago, Ana or SJ) - they just don't have it this year. Injuries are partly to blame. The rest? The players are just beating themselves. Mental gaffs that shouldn't happen, lazy defense, absolutely no clutch in our forwards this year. Top down, it's disappointing. Call it an off year, whatever, this team is not going to win Stanley this year - it's not happening. I'd rather get a higher draft pick this year than watch us get our butts handed to us and sent to the golf course in 4 or 5 games in the first round - for the third straight year. Some positives: - Kassian has looked great this game - goal (and an assist, I believe). He's making use of the injuries to his team and getting his chance to make a case for himself why he should be playing in a top 6 position. - Hansen had a strong game; He's much better suited to the third line and it shows. Good passes tonight. - Higgins also looked to have a good game - a bounce back from the flu. - Tanev: he and Hamhuis are consistently our best defensemen out there. Glad he's doing well this year. Other than that, the last 5 minutes were brutal to watch.
  15. Well said. He's 21 years old. A sad part of the current generation, is that they want things right now, not later or to earn them. Can't say that about everyone in this generation, but it's known for it. As you said, would he rather be with people his own age, or go to a team where most are anywhere from 6 to 12 years older than him. Wish him the best - Maybe he'll develop into a really good player - maybe he won't. Only time will tell.
