Game Night in New York

Vancouver Canucks (28-8-6) play the New York Rangers (25-16-2) tonight 4pm pacific at Madison Square Garden. For the Canucks this is game 2 of a 5 game road trip. This is a rare visit as the Canucks haven't play the Islanders since November 2009. Todays game is the first time Kevin Bieksa will be playing against the Rangers because of his previous injury. Last game they ended up beating the New York Islanders in a shootout. The period was coming to an end and the Canucks were down 3-2, but like always Kevin Bieksa came to the rescue and scored within 34 seconds of the Islanders 3rd goal. It reminds me of the time he scored the game winning goal against Edmonton on Dec 26, 2010 with only 24 seconds left in the game. Mason Raymond's little twirl was so cute and he ended up scoring during the shootout. Ryan Kesler has continued his 5 game streak (5-2-7) by scoring one goal in regulation and the last shootout goal. The Canucks are looking forward the continuing their 17 game unbeatable regulation streak tonight. I hope Bieksa keeps up the awesome work and receives at least one point this game. He totally deserves it and I'm glad he is showing all of the Canucks fans what he is really about. So for all you Bieksa haters out there, what do you think now? Kevin has been my favorite player for the last few years. He the type of player that his team can count on when they need him the most. Yes yes I know he had a rough start and screwed up quite a bit during the play offs, but he has way more potential than he showed. All players have their good and bad days. Take Luongo for example, he had a rough start, but as time went by he ended the first half of this season with a BANG!

Lets hope Cory Schneider can beat the franchise Canucks record of 10 non regulation losses when starting. That would be awesome. He is sitting at 8-0-2 so far this season. Cory has been the best back up goalie we have ever had. If he does get traded next season we have Eddie Lack from the Manitoba Moose. Eddie is like the next Luongo ( well like Lou use to play )

Some stats:

(28-8-6)

Canucks are currently first in the league with 62 points (a lead of 3 points)

Goal Differential: +43 They are first in the league with a lead of +7 (Penguins)

17 non regulation losses in a row

Henrik Sedin 3rd place in points in the league with 55 (46 assists..number one)

Daniel Sedin 4th place in points in the league with 55
