Flames 1 - 3 Canucks F - Game 69 - 03.14.10

Coming off a dominating 5-1 victory over the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqeJDZCIwcY, the Canucks were ready for a tough showdown against their arch rivals, the Calgary Flames.

With about a dozen games to go in the regular season, the Flames are battling to make the playoffs and the Canucks are leading the North West division with 87 points.

Captain Roberto Luongo got the nod to start for the Canucks and on the opposite end, Miikka Kiprusoff was in net for the Flames.

Canucks got off to a quick start when the Sedin twins teamed up to score the first goal of the game for the Canucks.

Minutes later, Ryan Kesler's one timer rung off the post and bounced in for the 2-0 Canucks lead.

Late in the first period, the top line struck again as Henrik Sedin's shot went in off Kipper for the 3-0 Canucks lead.

From there on, The Canucks sat back and protected the lead for the remainder of the game.

Calgary managed to get one past Luongo, but that was all they got on this night as the Vancouver Canucks won their 43rd game of the season.

The Canucks get a well deserved day off on Monday and they'll get back on ice on Tuesday evening to face the New York Islanders. Catch that game on Rogers Sportsnet at 7pm PST.
