That`s All Folks!

Well we have reached that bitter sweet time of the year again. The 7-3 win in game #82 tonight tells me that I am soon to be stuck watching classic series on ESPN just to get my hockey fix in the summer. Lets not get ahead of ourselves though, we still have the upcoming post season that feels different this year for some reason. Calgary doesnt make the cut for the first time since 2003. Colorado, who was in serious rebuild mode this year just squeaks in. Detroit was sitting in ninth with two weeks left in the season. And the, Cinderella Story, Coyotes, who no one wanted, finish with over 100 points. Going into the post season the Canucks have yet another division title, a serious Art Ross contender in H Sedin, an injury plagued blue line, and a starting goalie that has been shaky of late. So what do the 09-10 playoffs have in store for our Vancouver Canucks? Well I am cautiously optimistic. We have more depth in offence than years past, the 4th best PP, and arguably, when the mood strikes him, one of the best goalies in the league. But as quick as the Canucks have been to make any team that isnt moving their feet pay, early and often, they have been just as fast to pull a Jekyll and Hyde, making me have doubts. Despite dismal losses to the likes of the Oilers and the Islanders, and the few shellacking we took, Chicago and LA come to mind, we did finish over 500 on the league record road trip, and tied a club record for wins. Whether or not we took the prettiest most leisurely route, doesnt matter. What matters is that we made the playoffs, with home ice advantage to boot. For all you naysayers out there who are bringing up postseasons past, myself included at times, my advice is to have faith. Faith in a team who refused to give up, with the most come from behind wins this year. Faith in a goalie who brought the Gold home, showing us all what he could do when it came down to the wire. And faith in a coach, who I have questioned in the past, but has always brought me around to see things his way. With all the ups and downs this year, not only for Vancouver, but the whole league, it promises to be a post season to remember. I honestly think we have as good a chance as any at hoisting The Cup. Whatever the outcome, I am proud of the year they had. Wouldnt have missed a minute of it, from the tears to the cheers, I want to say Thank You Canucks.

Make up your mind – are we looking for a new goalie as you were suggesting in your thread or should we have 'faith' in the goalie we have? Your credibility is suffering just a wee bit, dearie......
