  1. This Canucks fanbase deserves this. We were on track to have a legit chance to land in the top 5 and have a chance to win the lottery for once.  But we needed to win meaningless games in March and celebrate doing more of the same thing that we have done for ten f**king years.

Btw no guarantee that Petersson even stays.  Why would he?  This franchise ain't winning a damn thing.

Slow clap for this f**king management.

Getting really tired of the between period media interviews creating confusion or trying to scare folks.

Once again there is another panic comment.

Gee whiz listening to McIntired you would think that losing Horvat will make this team worse and drop them out of 1rst place in the league or something.

He did nail it though when he stated no valuable player had been traded since Linden.

I wonder that he didn't connect the dots, last time the team ended up with good players and playoffs.

And all those years they didn't make those trades didn't help the team win squat.

If Horvat goes there will be another player. There always is.

The TEAM isn't about one player or even several of them, the team is ALL of them.

The team could easily drop a few more spots they need to drop 5 to 7 points to get into a very high draft pick lottery or not.

Just wait for the next two games, WOOO!

Seattle will be much harder. Hey you see that Buffalo team, they are catching that NJD team and Montreal just pulled away some more. Ottawa is now ahead too and they have several serious injuries to core players

Hey, it is a tank by any other name you want to use.

Don't expect too much from MacIntyre.  He's a management apologist if I ever heard one.

Listening to him earlier today, teams just try to "get better" (couldn't elaborate on how the canucks were taking steps), stated that a rebuild was effectively trading Hughes, Petersson and Demko and hoping you draft position players that perform the same or better (as if any of those three have won anything yet or as if a salary cap doesn't exist)

I think it's the lack of effort and no one is held accountable. Nothing has been done when it was said that players would be held accountable. Mistakes being made everywhere in the organization and they are just staying the course. That's what angers me. No standards being set.

    100% this!

They have no problem benching Garland, Kuzmenko, Podkolzin, etc but didn't hold Miller and others accountable.

That extends up to management ans ownership as well.  While I know its hard for them to admit a mistake, some bloody contrition would be nice for a change (followed by a clear direction)

He is also one of the tops for time on ice, plays in a lot of difficult situations and plays on a pathetic PK where we get scored on every second penalty. But yeah that’s all on him

The fact is the team moved him to wing after regular poor performance. This is an 8M player we just signed for **** sakes.  JR and PA screwed up.  Badly.

Miller + Demko for Marner.  Who says no?

Canucks (obviously).  Why would we trade a goalie locked into an excellent contract and versatile centre/winger in Miller in the final year of a cap flexible deal and who can return significant assets in a trade for a 10 million plus (good) winger.  Toronto would laugh to the bank if the Canucks offered this.

Knights play Sharks, Stars, Blackhawks, Blues. Only question mark there is the Blues but I think they win those games.

Stars play the Knights, Coyotes, and Ducks. They’ll go two for three.

Preds play Wild, Flames, Avs, Coyotes. With the goaltending they’re getting they could easily go 1-3.

If the Flames are smart they’ll drop their game against the Preds but they won’t.

I think the scenario is very real that the Flames play the Knights first round, which would be hilarious because they had the chance to take them out a couple weeks ago and they couldn’t.

Would love to see it.  A Flames first round exit followed by Gaudreau walking out and Tkachuk gouging the Flames would be a nice way to cap off this hockey season.

Is it wrong that I’m actually contemplating rooting for Vegas just so that they can bounce Calgary first round?

I think there’s a good chance Vegas wins their final 4 and pass Dallas and Nashville…

As much as I hate the Knights I hate the Flames more…

Haha, I was thinking the same.  There really isn't another team in the Pacific that will threaten the Flames. I'd rather not see them cake walk to the conference finals and maybe get lucky against a beaten up Avs team that may have wounds playing the Blues or Minny

His value was for the 2022 Playoffs, not his QO. A 3/4th is better than nothing we are gonna get. He isn’t worth the 6.3m….time to move on and get a more needed player(s).

Respectfully disagree.  People were losing their $&!# because we got a 4th for Motte.  If we traded Boeser who has scored 20 for 4 straight seasons for effectively loose change, Alvin and Rutherford would be lynched.

Further, even if we free up boeser's 6 mill off the books, there isn't a UFA out there that's gonna fix this team (and we've seen how well spending on free agents has helped us thus far).

This team can't afford to lose assets for nothing anymore.  Given how the team handled Motte, I have a hard time believing they will let him walk.  A trade is possible, but I think they will try to rebuild value and then trade him.

Exactly why we should have ditched him at the TDL for a PO team. He has NO value now for his rights. As a FA, he’s a 5-5.5m situational player. Even at that, I’d rather have a big bodied player that skates well, but may not be as much as a natural scorer; Peter needs this profile (Dickinson sucks!)

I don't think he had value whether at the deadline or now due to the QO situation.  No team is going to offer value in a trade with that uncertainty.

Our best play is reverse arb, Brock will likely have to accept a 15% cut and he will elect a term that will walk him to UFA, and then we have that length of time to hope he recovers his value (or recovers enough value to trade him off in the last year of his contact)

Boeser will not be offered 6 mill, he will probably  offered 5.5 or lower

Won't happen unless he walks as a UFA and signs with another team or he really loves playing in Van and is willing to take less (can't see that happening given we arent a winning franchise atm) or we offer significant term.

The most reverse arbitration can knock down his contract is 15% (down to 6.375 million).  Either the Canucks tender him this after reverse arb, tender him his 7.5 qualifying offer or he walks.

It sucks that we have so much money tied into our D.

I feel like Boudreau could get a lot out of cheaper D men that are just mobile. Look how good Dermott has looked in his system.

Dumping Myers and shifting more money to the forwards is a must.

That seems to be Rutherford's s.o.p in Pittsburgh so you may get your wish.

As long as the Canucks are playing any team is the enemy but once out I’ll be voting for any Canadian team other than TO, in sick of the Cup living is the cesspool that is the US.

Respect that.  I felt like that too way back when. I've been jaded since 2011 when the media and many vocal eastern fans were cheering the Bruins.  Since that, they can all go to hell.

I don't know what is going to happen with Boeser. We have to qualify him, don't we?

We dont have to tender a qualifying offer.  Reverse arbitration can be an option and will prevent him from automatically becoming UFA.  However, I believe I heard Boeser can choose the length of contract he is awarded from reverse arb.  Will bet he will select an award that walks him to UFA
