Really disappointing game overall. Offence was quite dreadful, very few chances. Defence gave up two weak goals, Leveron gets a red. I thought that Waston and Rosales looked good in their debut.
Hopefully they can regroup against the Timbers. I have tickets and want buy a jersey, should I get a Teibert or Morales jersey?

Shutter Island - 8.5/10
Excellent acting by DiCaprio, definitely one of the better films in recent years. Scorsese & Co. really did well adapting from the novel. Certainly a hell of a lot better than The Wolf of Wall Street.

I think Teibert would be a good captain. He's a Canadian (which is an accomplishment in itself), a product of the Youth Academy, and is very well known amongst Caps fans.

So there's going to be a Whitecaps USL minor/reserve team based out of New Westminster next year for the main squad to directly farm its players out to. Will be good for development.
agreed, better than having to loan our players to a team in North Carolina. I like having the idea of having a local affiliate, we can keep a better eye on our prospects.

Thanks..we need a proven player up front...rookies only last so long on zeal.
are you opposed to Camillo coming back...I dont want to see him back..but thats just me.
I really hope we don't, but if he does I expect a full apology and a promise to play his ass off.
I'd really like to see him and Morales control the attack though, that would be phenomenal.

Just bought tickets for the match against Chivas for my first game. Should be a fun game, a weak Chivas defence will lead to lots of chances for the Caps, a deadly Erick Torres should be fun to watch

An amazing strike from Hurtado, although I thought Salgado showed enough skill against Toronto to deserve the start. I really like the defensive-mid pairing of Laba and Koffie, they played a key role in shutting out a dangerous Crew attack. Not a particulalry fantastic game, obviously not a game for the ages, but three points is three points.

I think the Caps really need a veteran striker. Fernandez, Mezquida, Mattocks and Manneh are all under 24. Inexperienced strikers could be the downfall of the team this year.

edit: didn't even read the thread. Here's my side; this is a mock draft, nothing more than that, I don't think think it'll go any farther than that. My primary objective is to acquire as many draft picks as possible, I want to increase my participation as much as possible. I honestly don't give 2 craps about the rangers, but I love drafting. Acquiring the 3rd pick is a guaranteed superstar, (Reinhart/Bennett) Ryan Mcdonagh is a #2 defenceman, Kreider is a good 2nd liner. Klefbom is a former first round pick with a whole bunch of potential, I see him as an Alex Edler type of player. It only seems bad because of the players im giving up.
edit2; Also, scouts are saying this draft has a huge drop in talent after #10, so #18 really does not hold that much value.

Can't make it Saturday, have to work.
NYR looking to move up, Kreider and Mcdonagh are available.

What an awesome first episode to season 4. Even though I have read all the books and the show is still exciting.
I have to say I love the review at the beginning of the episode and the montage of Tywin forging the new swords from Ned's blade. The writers of this show is terrific. We have had no reason to dislike Tywin, until maybe now.
completely agree about the opening scene, a very final way to end the rebellion. The CGI for the dragons was amazing, I especially like when (Drogon?) snapped back at Danaerys. Although didn't the books say the dragons only ate their meat burnt? I'm pretty sure it was a fresh kill. The tavern scene with Polliver was also very good, exactly how i imagined it. A pretty good season opener in any case.

I find the CFL much more entertaining. NFL is such a snooze fest, run 3 yards, run 2 yards, pass 4 yards. At least in the CFL there are more passing plays.

Reo-Coker is expected to miss the Major League Soccer club's game this weekend against the Houston Dynamo with a concussion after he tripped over a bike rack and banged his head in Vancouver on Sunday.

I thought Mattocks had played pretty well in all three games - good effort. The problem is that, for whatever reason, the mid-fielders can't seem to get him the ball. The problem lies more in mid-field than it does with Mattocks.
But I like the idea of starting both Manneh and Mattocks. I think Robinson has held off starting Manneh because he was injured during the preseason and still isn't fully fit.
I concur with the point about the midfield, but even when he gets the ball in a good spot he seems to struggle with putting it on net, he's got good pace and is decent with the ball but his finishing has really taken a nosedive.
-
I wish Robinson would give Manneh a start, Mattocks has been about as effective as the ball boys. I'm also not sure Harvey is cut out for a starting role, he looks lost and his defensive game leaves a lot to be desired.
edit: i wish we still had Rochat, he was very versatile and played a solid game.

Big news today. Salgado traded to NYCFC and is reportedly being sold to an international club, with the 2 clubs to split the profit. Caps also picked up options on Ousted, Tornaghi, Carducci, Sampson, Ballouchy, Koffie, Lewis, Mattocks and Hurtado. Declined options on Fernandez, Mezquida, Leveron, Rosales and Diouf.
I think it's good that Salgado has left. Never made an impact or lived up to potential. Kind of surprised they kept Ballouchy, he seemed rather invisible in the few games he played. I really hoped Fernandez and Rosales would stay, they added some flair to our midfield and chipped in the odd goal. I still love watching Fernandez ripping the ref a new one on the season's finale. Surprised Leveron is gone as well, he was a good option to turn to when we needed a CB. Kind of worried there are only 2 natural CBs in Dean and Waston left on the roster, but apparently O'Brien is keeping in contact with the club. Its seems like this club is close to competing for the next season if we add a good striker and a CB.
edit: and the expansion draft is looming, really hope we don't lose anyone important.
