  1. That's a tricky question. The question is, did Brady know that they were underinflated? When I would squeeze one at practice, I had no clue what the PSI on it was. I just went with whatever one that gave me a good grip and had a slight give to it. I was never a QB let alone a professional QB, and I could tell the difference, but I couldn't tell you specifically what the PSI was. During slow parts of practice in high school I'd go to the bag that held our footballs to grab a ball. I'd squeeze them until I found one that I liked and would throw it back and forth with somebody else. If you didn't look busy during a practice and a coach saw you, you were told to start running laps on the track.

Only Brady himself could say whether he knows a ball well enough to tell it's weight.

This reminds me a lot of the stupid 'bridge-gate' that Governor Chris Christie had to endure. The guy is a hot head and carries a reputation as one who does not suffer fools gladly.

So his staff -eager to please him - does what they figure he wants and lashes out at a democrat who wouldnt back him by closing the lanes on the bridge to his district.

So this whole soap opera erupts as to Christies motives, and did he mastermind it all blah blah........

Since Nixon and Watergate , people in power can never have any official knowledge of anything shady. Especially something this petty and underhanded. Christie himself finds out about it and probably has a good chuckle. It still doesnt mean he had anything to do with it. His sycophants did.

Brady has sycophants too. They need Brady to win. They need to keep Brady happy. They gave him what he wanted. He went out to play and found the balls the way he likes them.

  2. Breaking the rules and then lying about it is a bigger issue than the outcome of one game. It would also be common sense to say that they wouldn't change their routine up in a big game like last week, so this deflation stuff has likely been going on for years.

Well first of all how many times do we see every hockey player TRY to break the rules and get away with it every shift? Hockey is probably the worst for guys trying as hard as they can to get away with whatever they can. Probably why we have a penalty box right?

For me this Super Bowl is a dream come true. The Seahawks and Patriots are my two favorite teams and I hope the game goes into overtime with the Seahawks winning on a safety. :towel:

I know Belichek is a turd but Tom Brady is not. Lumping them both together is not fair to either man. Sure Belichek is a dislikeable guy who has been known to cheat (like every other coach). What sets him apart is he is not a likeable guy. He pushes the envelope and gets caught but then has his football team 13-3 on average every year winning multiple superbowls. The guy is without a doubt a genius. I just dont know how much he is without Brady.

Brady has no issues with his personality. By all accounts he is well liked by his team mates and around the league. He is a sure hall of famer who has broken just about every record their is and its not because he played with a bunch of hall of famers to make him look good either.

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out Patriot insiders would know what Brady likes. They dont need Brady or Belichek to give their say so. They just go ahead and take the balls after the refs ok them and on the sideline let them out a bit.

The league could have very well just handled it internally or fined them or whatever. But because its the Patriots, they make a huge thing about it so the Colts and especially the Ravens can cry a river of crocodile tears.

Next time, assign league 'handlers' for the balls so they cant be deflated, inflated, greased or ironed or vacuumed or shat on while on the sideline. Seems easy enough a plan right? :picard:

  3. Without a doubt the worst game the Seahawks played all year.

For some reason the Packers refused to take advantage of it. 5 turnovers. Has anyone ever won the conference championship with 5 turnovers????? Kudos to Russel Wilson who looked like a chimp for much of this game but he never gave up. Eventually he started to click.

Packers fans must be on suicide watch at this point :frantic:

    Go Hawks !

  4. Virtanen is not the scoring dynamo some on here think he is. He is a crasher and banger .

On a team this over stacked, expecting Virtanen to be put in a scoring role is unrealistic . He will serve well as a fourth line energy guy. No need to get our egos in a knot because our new lovechild isnt being hyped as much as we want.

(I swear I am getting a strong sense of dejavu )

Dont worry. Jake will be given his chance with the Canucks. Once he gets to play 5 on 3 with the Sedins then we can judge how good he is. :)

  5. Is your name derived from a traumatic head injury you've had? You pretty clearly haven't seen the kid play

I watch him play all the time. He isnt that good. Not for a 6th overall forward pick.

If he had 16 points in 15 games as a defenseman , yeah I would be pretty excited even as an over ager.

  6. I don't know about few. I seem to recall a good number of us.

Given Benning/Linden's comments on what they were looking to draft, Virtanen was the pretty obvious choice short of say a Draisaitl etc dropping to us. Fast, big, gritty with a great shot. Plays like a skilled junk yard dog. What team wouldn't want that? Being a home town boy was icing on the cake.

Nylander etc will likely become talented players but it was always a pretty remote chance we were drafting them before Virt. And I'm not sure what it is but my Spidey senses are raising up red flags about Ritchie. Something tells me he's going to be a lot more Pyatt than say Nash.

Interesting take on this. Allow me to quote you on it. :)

  7. I don't know how Raonic got the #5 seed in this tournament. Alot of noise made out for him but seriously he's a glorified John Isner, serves good but Roanic has a little better mobility and forehand.

This Japanese guy reads Raonic like a book. Terrible day for Canadians, they're better than this. Raonic needs to learn how to get the ball over the net if he wants to be a first serve guy because if it wasn't for his serve he wouldn't have a job as a tennis player. Seriously needs to hit the ball over the net on his first serve.

I watched the full game and she got worse as the game got on. 31 unforced errors, didn't think she stood a chance after the 1st set. Even after the 2nd round, I knew she wasn't getting into the finals.

Milos is a serve guy. He would have thrived in the 80s.

Tennis players need to be fast and flexible. Both Fed and Nadal are 6ft 1 . Tall enough but light and mobile enough to encompass a full game.

Bouchard is an excellent size for a female player. She is sturdy with a balanced supply of power and mobility. She is the best bet for #1 in the future of Canadian tennis.

  8. Too bad it wasn't a closer match.

she still has to be better vs top seeds. Wouldn't be surprised if she is in finals again in us open

    Eugenie is 20 years old.

Most great champions come to the pearly gates thinking God will open the door and roll out a big red carpet.

Instead they get their butts handed to them rudely . To look at this positively, she ate some humble pie today and will grow leaps and bounds . She will be #1 by 2016.

She is simply the greatest Canadian tennis player we have ever produced. I am proud of her. :towel:

  9. I totally forgot EHLERS went to the west. He's gonna get demolished and Ritchie is clearly the next Sestito. NHL 4th liner for sure. Can someone pull up Sestito stats for me. Ritchie has some serious health and fitness issues.

I already know what the pre-emptive spin is going to be when Ehlers is speeding around sniping 30 .

Oh, sure he plays in the West but he doesnt play in the PACIFIC . Surely he would get creamed there.
