After a Kesler trade we have 20 mil in cap space, not bad at all
-
I think this buyout is pretty useless especially if Kesler is going too, who'll take the spots? Why do we need so much cap space?
ToM's Sig?
-
With a Kesler deal + maybe Higgins or Hansen we have
5+4.5+2.5+11mil we alrdy have in cap space = 22 million in cap space = 8th in highest cap space in NHL
Good move Benning.

ANH has begun the media posturing...
Saying they are interested in Spezza,
I know they would rather have Kes but they are clearly floating that out there to let Benning know they have other options.
Our leverage is slipping away by the day,
We have just lost leverage with CHI and ANH,
I think it's too late now.
They didn't strike while the iron was hot, they pulled an MG and waited for un-realistic deal to happen.
I expect to have an un-happy Kesler in training camp, and a Luongo 2.0 situation to drag on through out the season, before we finally either lose Kes to FA, or let him go for much less then what has been offered.
The market was re-hot for Kes and now it has cooled significantly.
Thats nice
More like both anaheim and chicago are desperate form him to compete with the kings and benning knows kesler ia the number 1 trade proapect since nash.

I think coaching makes up for 10 percent of a team.
Nash had the game on his stick and he couldnt get it an inch higher a half second earlier.
Richards had a wide open net and shot it way wide.
The ny rangers had like 3 plugs that serirs and the la kings had a 4th line worth 6million out play a 17 million dollar nash line.
Poor alain.
-
He does it with his suberb passing shot and hockey iq that lets him excel on a bad team not one with jonathan drouin on it.
-
Ritchie doesnt rely on his size at all to score his 40 goals.
-
Like I've said b4, we've got up and coming big/tough guys. Basically every prospect we have other than Shinkaruk is average sized or big. I don't see Kane getting pushed around. That's because he's got big guys around him and he knows how to avoid big hits.
Lol

When Daniels face was used as a speed bag by Marchand and not a canuck lifted a finger it was one of the most embarassing moments of being a Canuck fan. It went 7 games but they blew us out in the 4 bruin wins including game 7 in our building when we didn't show up and were never in the game. They pushed us around physically in that series and we had no response.
Since then 3 seasons have passed and the Canucks cannot compete in the western conference playoffs. Will be battling for 8th spot next year, hard pressed to make it. Our first line 7 million dollar players will be 34 at the start of the season are looking like 70 pts is the ceiling, 50 might be the reality. They also don't have great history of coming through I the playoffs when the going gets tough. Ehlers at 163 lbs no thanks. Enough of soft players.
You wont convince them they'll just compare ehlers to kane and gallagher.
-
Have you seen Ehlers skate or handle the puck?
Yes have you seen ritchie. Very similiar hockey iq and skating.
-
Says the guy whose name is Speed or Size, but clearly perfers size. You draft the BPA. And for me, that's Ehlers or Nylander, by a mile. Both of them have problems easily fixable other than height. Defense and weight can be improved after 1 season in the NHL. We've already got enough big guys going forward and the only pure skilled guy we have is Shinkaruk.
Ritchie is as fast and skilled as ehlers in a tougher league on a crappier team.
Deal with it.
-
They don't look to hit people, they finish their checks. Kopitar is primarily a skilled player, evident since he's leading the playoffs in points. Richards has taken on the role of being a physical player as well, but that's because he isn't very good any more. So now, they have 2 PRIMARILY physical guys in Brown and Richards. The rest are just big.
As far as King, Clifford and Nolan go, they're 4th liners who can easily be sign in free agency.
You Guys are so delusional and u dont even watch the nhl
-
watYou're probably watching the same highlights me, you're just looking at it incorrectly. And him speeding through the neutral zone is pretty much exactly what I was saying lol.. And like I said Nylander doesn't have attitude problems? How many time will I have to put it down your think skull? And why not compare Nylander to Thornton, you were pointing out how Nylander having 1 goal in 22 SHL games is bad, but look at Thornton, who is in a very similar scenario. We are talking abouty how many GOALS he scored. You have seem to forgotten about that. Plus, I never said he's supposed to be a 100+ point guy in the NHL, I said that he has the potential to be a 90+ point guy in the NHL I don't know what you're talking about. Also, If Sodertalje means nothing, then the Halifax Mooseheads mean nothing as well. None of your statements add up.
-
If Detroit offered Sheahan Tartar and the 1st I'd consider it but then hang up the phone laughing.
Mantha or Couturier or he goes to anaheim.
-
I'm watching the finals and the flashiest goal last game was scored by Dustin Brown. But wait, he's not small or known for his pure offensive abilities.
It's like... Wait, what?... Bit hitting guys can possess skill as well?
Who knew?
I don't know about you guys, but i'm done with the upselling job being done with guys like Schroeder and Rodin. Drafting for, yup, speed and scoring, despite lack of NHL-ready size or elite skill. With Nylander and Ehlers, i see much of the same. Perhaps a more legit upside with these kids, but a Hemsky-esque one.
Perhaps Linden and Benning are here now to correct the massive errors we've performed in past drafts. Let us hope.
I am confident a lot of the Nylander supporters are Swedish Canucks fans who just hate seeing all the comments about drafting a Canadian.
If they personally cheered for Nylander in youth leagues I could see them never giving up on getting the Nucks to draft him.
-
Ritchie has probably 85% the pure talent dal colle has. Passing shooting skating.
All that can improve even more when his fitness excels.

-
I'd be happy with any one of
Drasitaille(german), Delacolle
No let's take Ritchy
-
If we pick Virtanen with the 6th overall pick, Im done with this team.
Don't worry its Nylander Ehlers or Ritchie
-
ridiculous comments + recent join date = recently banned from the forum.
Its not a ridiculous comment
The reason Bob Mckenzie has him 6th on his draft list is a sublime wrist shot and his insane passing.
Ehlers played with Drouin and has the most inflated numbers in the history of the QMJHL
-
HA. HA. HA. Are you seriously trying to tell me that you think Ritchie is a better passer than Ehlers? Excuse me, what are you on? You obviously know little to nothing about hockey.
LOL get a clue son and watch some tape the guy passes full length saucers passes at full speed.
-
Ritchie does use his size a ton. But he also has that deadly wrist shot. High risk high reward type player....
Yea best wrist shot in the draft but let's pick princess Ehlers ahhaha
-
I sincerly hope Nylander isn't gone by our pick, But if he is, Why the hell would we pick Ritchie over Ehlers. Nylander is better than Ehlers, But Ehlers is MUCH better than Ritchie. Comparing someone who can only score because he's 6'3, 230 pounds to someone who is actually skilled like Ehlers, is an absolute joke.
Ritchie passses way better than Ehlers get a clue
