Haha i wish i could help you out :P but my phone was having troubles loading any pictures and now i'm out of data. Maybe i'll get bored one night and search through a bunch more on  my computer.

    Lmao sounds like a deal

I'd post my visage but I don't need to intimidate spinsters like Cerridwen further to a stroke.

  2. So I went camping with a couple friends over the long weekend. One friend took the responsibility of loading our luggage and tents on the back of his truck and stacked them in a very...unstable manner where my carryon luggage was on top of sleeping bags. When we were on Port Mann going at 120 we get a phone call from another friend driving behind us to not look back and keep driving to not get ticketed. Apparently a luggage (my luggage) fell onto the road and a car drove over it and began spinning and caused some minor rear enders. The car recovered and drove away with my luggage underneath it from what I've heard. I've reported it lost to almost every relevant authority I can think of and there's no news of it

So I confess I'm angry af at my friend for his carelessness, and I'm also sad that I'll have to spend almost a grand to get back all that I have lost including custom orthotics

    Ugh

Edit: can't even gym without my orthotics man

I've been reading CDC for at least a year and never ventured into white noise until about a month ago. I looked through so much of this thread today and it just leaves me so confused, and a little scared. I hope this thread never dies

Hottest user you have encountered buried in these pages?

It was definitely one of my favourites of the series so far, easily top 3. But not just because of the Hodor stuff. the dialogue in that episode was on-point throughout, and so many of the good characters had really defining or interesting scenes.

My favourite bit of the episode was probably with the Greyjoys. the whole conflict and crowning sequence was so good.

sad that von Sydow (probably?) won't be in the show anymore.

but Ian McShane (Al Swearengen) is in the cast for this season, so hopefully he has a good role coming up.

Aside from the "I order you to find a cure!" bit, definitely.

It's interesting how Jon never shared a single scene with Sansa. Not once. Until this season.

Jon never talked about Sansa, and Sansa did not think about Jon until late last season, and only because Ramsey brought it up.

This re-union is a bit of an arbitrary construction in our heads.

Not in the books though. Jon reflects on Sansa a handful of times when Stannis offers him to become the Lord of Winterfell. Agree it's a bit arbitrary in the show

Yeah, I know for me the thinner I get, I really enjoy looking in the mirror. I have about 10 pounds to loose until I am really thin.

You look just fine brilac. You might disappear after ten pounds. What have you been doing to lose the weight?

I love baking! I wish I could cook though :(

Bonus confessions: In spite of the fact I'm at the tail end of my twenties, I know neither how to drive nor swim. Well technically I can drive, I'm just terrified to and unlicensed. Swimming I tried and failed miserably.

How does it affect your social life that you can't drive? I can't say it helps

My confession: wearing clothes is a chore when you're feeling your gym progress and want the world to know. Sorry.

    I confess

I don't think I have it in me to do the 9-5 life. I hate it.

    Under The Skin 9/10

Second time seeing it, liked it even more. Maybe not quite as good as the book but they're so different there's not really a direct comparison. This is more of an 'inspired by' take on the story.

If you haven't seen it, it's a minimalist, moody sci-fi thriller with ScarJo quietly rolling around Edinburgh luring single men into the void, complete with a glitched out 70s horror score and a weird balance of documentary style filming and trippy cgi visuals. Not everyone's thing I'm sure but it's so, so good for what it is.

edit to add this is probably my favorite book --> movie adaptation combo since The Shining; can't think of another example where a visionary filmmaker took such great source material and completely reworked it into their own thing

Completely agree. I think the movie would have lost its magic if it left its eerie vagueness and leaned more towards the book in that regards. Apparently ScarJo just had a camera clipped on for many of the scenes that were improvised completely on the streets. Taking the ET element and putting it on the backseat gave the film this grimey look into gender dynamics that made me want to take a shower afterwards.

Both rendition works better for its medium. I tried to picture the film following the book closely and I just don't think it would have worked.

Big nod to the soundtrack for elevating it to the next level too.
