he turns 20 in november, he was 2 months shy of being eligible in the 2016 draft. So technically he was an older draft eligible player?
You are correct, I was wrong, I heard what I wrote in an interview, but just looking, realized the cut off is September 15 for NHL draft eligible players. Still though, the hype is real.

The guy is almost young enough to be in this year's draft and he's dominating the SHL, it's hard to not forecast a star NHLer. It is what it is, he's going to be hyped, ain't much you can do about that.

Was he implying he would of selected him 1st overall?

Tank on purpose/rebuilding from scratch is media and fan BS, so many people are use to having a contender here they think making the playoffs is a waste unless you are rolling in with the prez trophy. People talk about the west as if it's impossible to penetrate yet the Wild took the Hawks to the brink last season in the 2nd round. Favorites of course not, but sh#t happens, injuries, upsets, hot streaks, you don't waste seasons in the bottom the league because you think a couple picks are going to guarantee you a cup because they don't you win by making it to the dance as many times as possible.

I can not take MacLean seriously, not to mention the Canucks just got out of Lui deal they are going to jump into a 6 year deal on a old goalie?
I like the Miller deal short like 3 years but if they ink him for 6 I am going to puke.
-
Seems like Boston would prefer to re-sign him... maybe Benning can pry Eriksson from Boston, I'm sure the twins would be pretty happy with that move
-
Whatever they do they can not go with Lack + Markstrom next season, at the very least get a vet backup that can play 30+. I'm with a lot of people though would prefer Hiller because he's cheaper but maybe Miller has the shorter term so who knows.

Forget Ehroff bring back Sami for one last year
-
On every ranking? Ritchie, Ehlers or Nylander would have been better choices.
Dude he is ranked 6th by central scouting in North America, it's a bonus that he is a local kid.
-
The rumor of 6th overall, Shinkaruk, plus Tanev is brutal who made that one up?

Edler has always been inconsistent, one week he'll look good then he's a deer in the headlight for 3 weeks, at 28 years old it's hard to believe that is going to change much. He's probably already told Linden he's not waiving his NTC, last year Murph talked to him about it and Elder's quote was something along the lines of "You don't just sign a 5 year NTC contract just to waive it the first year."
-
So I guess with Benning as GM Nylander is pretty much out of the question.
-
I think he gets traded, and it's the best move for the team if he does. People need to stop holding on here, if they don't bring in some younger guys they'll be bottom feeders for a long time. Even without Kesler they still have a chance at grabbing some wildcards over the next couple years before youth movement starts to kick in and if not missing the playoffs for a season or two isn't the worse thing that could happen anyway.

Get the Delorean let's go to the draft

Moj on Team 1040 is still asshurt about being called fat by MG and is just ripping into him XD
No doubt... wow, easy there tiger... easy.

Feaster on TSN Radio in Toronto saying he would relish the opportunity to work with Torts
Every Canucks fans worst nightmare....
please no.... please no

Like the whole issue with Lui and schneider I think it goes way back to Lui's contract offer. Why would MG contradict himself regarding his feeling on these long contracts when he shot down the one the twin's agent put forward that had them in at 4.5mil cap hit over 10 years I believe, only to okay a even longer contract a few months later to a older player that plays goal. Which you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know is a way more risky position to have that kind of term and money locked in on, you would think a player agent of his caliber would know this.

The thing with Gillis is it's hard to judge him when it seems ownership is pretty hands on, it's pretty obvious Torts was hired by ownership, so it makes you wonder where else ownership has gone over top of Gillis on hockey decisions.

"Sedins can't take a paycut"
Then they are going to be gone. They dropped off production last year and that has continued this year. Everyone keeps talking about everyone else, but the problem is really simple.
Henrik and Daniel Sedin can no longer get it done. If Gillis could move Luongo, he can move the Twins. He should start shopping them now so he can move up in the draft.

Take a look at all the top point players stats, every single one on this team has drastically dropped off this season.

Someone not sure but I believe was Staal's forearm to Burrow's head after the hit was far worse, 5mins for that is a joke, doesn't matter either way but still bush league.

That signing made no sense from the day it was signed, it's not even a knock on the player it's simply why are you spending this much money for a Dman on a already fat paycheck blueline when you lack scoring punch upfront?

Great outlet pass Garry...
Don Cherry was saying he has a knack of hitting the net

Certainly not over yet, but expecting them to score 2 against the ducks are a long shot.
perhaps but 3 is possible!

Can not remember a guy with so many prime scoring chances and no finish, his shooting % is awful, especially for an offensive player. Just looked at his stats he's shooting at 7% this season, last season he shot at 16%! Smallish sample size in games as he only played 38 games last season but still pretty drastic.
