Don't like that option is there another?
Realistically? Not many.
Canucks have a history of promoting from within (AV, Nonis). But who knows?

I think Laurence Gilman will be our next GM. Smart, cap savvy and lots of experience. Not a flashy move, but a good one.

Wonder who gets the call up. I can't imagine they don't call someone up. Grenier, Pelletier or Archibald?

Can't believe how many people aren't sold on Santo!
He's been the most consistent forward we've got. Great speed, tenacity, scoring touch.
Letting him go would be a HUGE mistake. I bet he re-signs for around $2 million per, which is a bargain for a guy who looks likely to put up a career year in points.
If our prospects want to be on this team, they'll play their way in.

With numbers like that, how can we NOT give him another shot?

People love to label players when they're drafted. No one can predict a player's ceiling. Burrows was never supposed to be more than a 3rd line agitator, and Kesler was projected as a 3C too.
I don't really see Gaunce as a huge scorer, but he's pretty smart and intelligence goes a long way, so who knows? Plus he has NHL size today. I'd say Schroeder and Richardson have their work cut out defending that 3C spot this year.

He's very smart and mature in interviews. I think he'll be a long time player for us and a huge asset. Shades of Kesler.

Excellent!
What kind of expectations should we put on him for points this season? I was hoping he would definitely improve on his 1 PPG pace from last season. Around 90 points would be nice.
Points are just one indicator. Nick Jensen is a good example of that. A PPG player in the OHL who is physically mature and defensively sound will do a lot better than an undersized, high scoring player who can't backcheck. Personally, I'm more concerned with what AV thinks of him come next training camp.

4 points in 11 games is a good start for a freshman D.
[Poll/ Discussion] Nylander vs. Ehlers; only 2 options for Canucks at #6
in Canucks Talk
Posted
Ehlers yes, Nylander no.
Nylander apparently has attitude issues, and I don't think he has the game breaking skill that Ehlers does.
I also think Ritchie is underrated in the speed and skill departments. I'd be happy if we selected him at 6.
