  1. Vrbata is 33 and a 1 time 30+ goal scorer. Moulson's numbers expectedly took a hit after not playing with Tavares. He's probably seeking a longer term deal after being moved twice last year.

Iginla is the ultimate mentor for the young players (esp. Kassian), has hit 30+ goals 13 times, and will probably only seek up to a 3, maybe 4 year contract at the most.

Vrbata as a scorer was an example. Right now a mentor isn't what will make this team play in the playoffs or improve long term. Guys alike Matt Moulson being signed long term is exactly what these team needs. We have a non existent 2nd line hole that needs to be filled long term and a mentor is the last thing needed right now.

  2. Sony owns the studio and exclusive MLB rights. But tbh, I never liked the series anyways. I owned a PS3 for 2 years and never got the game. I just like NHL in terms of sport games with a side of Fifa.

Pretty frustrating for big baseball fans, though. definitely beats any 2K game on Xbox. Still, not like people buy a PS for the baseball games, so you would think they would sell the rights to an Xbox studio for royalties.

  3. Pretty sure that's a Sony exclusive.

What an awful idea for a sports game by whoever developed this game (unless sony owns the studio). Missing a whole sector of the market. Sales could easily double.

Been wanting to play a great MLB on Xbox for way too long, as I felt the 2K really lacked a lot. Last decent one, but not even realistic, was The Bigs.

  4. As a marketing management graduate, I can say it looks like to me, they are making advertisements to speak to certain demographic. That's kinda the point of advertising to get a message across.

I could care less about an ad at a bus stop.

My issue is people "immigrating" to Canada, when all they are really doing is letting Canada be a daycare and school for their kids, while the parents go to China or overseas to make money. They don't invest in making jobs here, try to settle here, or even try to contribute to making Canada better.

We're just a pit stop, so their kids get cheap education, make money on flipping the house here. I want people to immigrate here because they want to live here, work here, create new jobs, add new skills, and contribute to our society in general.

I understand that's not everyone, but I do see a helluva a lot of people doing that. Maybe immigration should be looking at bringing more engineers, doctors, technicians, you know people to start businesses here and make money and jobs here in Canada for a change?

Agreed. Although, sure as hell contributed to the Vancouver real estate market.

  5. I expected as much, particularly with all the D we already have on the Canucks.

The Comets aren't in a terrible spot actually with McEneny joining them next year. That's on top of Corrado, Tommernes and Andersson, with AHL signings as well and Blaine or Guimond perhaps taking a bigger role as well. I don't know if guys like Sauve, Biega and Huskins be back but I'm sure the Canucks will help fill any spots they need without worrying about Hutton staying in school.

I hope Huskins is back for the Comets. He's been huge for the team, I'm sure, for leadership and experience, not to mention play. Good guy to have our prospects around.

  6. No 40 goals or a Selke, but had cracked 80 points, won a gold medal, had worn the C in Philly, and although his numbers had dipped the season prior to him being traded he was still considered in the prime of his career. Kesler is a comparable

Is comparable in some ways, but still different players, and dropped in production within the west. Kesler could have easily worn the C on another team as well, although thats an assumption. Trading your captain says enough for him being a captain to be a mute point. Especially when many feel the trade was made for character reasons.

  7. Or the majority of CDC is over-valuing our players.

And this post pretty sums it up:

To add to that, Richards was a 70-80 point player and a two time 30 goals scorer, when he was traded.

Still no 40 goal year with a selke. That's hard to come by within this league. Especially in the past 5 years. Watching Kesler play, including for an Olympic USA team, it's not hard to tell his high value. He's not the player to move from this team to improve us short, nor long term. It's our depth in defence that can improve this much needed scoring and addition to our top six, and finally create a second line.

I understand the value you put on Richards at the time, and the market situation at that time, but that was also an interesting situation there in Philly with an over hall of trades. I see the comparison but I find the players different than one another, as you can see a decline in Richards production since coming to the western conference, which has an impact. Many GM's take that into an account as well.

  8. SO tired of the fixation on finding bottom six players. This team is FILLED with solid bottom six players and role players, when this team has clearly needed scoring and skill for years. Management's goal should only be striving for gaining top six scoring and that alone. Adding more bottom six role players will just stretch this problem and continue our lack of scoring and clutter this team even more.

  9. I see him making it in part for this reason.

Shinkaruk and Gaunce can play in the AHL, which will greatly improve that team.

Pretty sure Shinkaruk also only has the options for NHL or junior. But Gaunce will be in Utica.
