  1. Hope not. Quinn wasn't a much better GM than Gillis really.Hopefully "Trevor" lets Benning run things and do things his way rather than try to copy a formula that didn't work. Don't care where a players from, just what he can do.

uhm...Quinn had a little budget and he was way better than Gillis...Quinn will be in the hall of fame ..Gillis...not so much.

but that is beside the point ...in a money era you have to be able to play the home card...Minnesota is doing it quite successfully right now , and not with only homegrown talent but also talent that was developed there

  2. I'm not saying either are being traded I just think Bieksa is safer than Hamhuis.

In no way is it even implied in my post that Hamhuis is/was the problem and should/would be traded.

Just that Bieksa is as safe or safer than Hammer. IMO Neither of them are going anywhere.

i believe Trevor is taking a bit of what Quinn captured in the 90's with a solid base of homegrowns accentuated by skilled euros

  3. the more i hear about tading garrison or edler, and as some on here have even said Hamhuis, just no to that!!! i think we see what winnipeg ,toronto, montreal would give for bieksa and hope there is a TO deal to be had i i'd bet that bieksa would waive in the offseason when moving and stuff would have ample opportunity

  4. kesler coming out and saying he wants to stay is nothing more than posturing and letting other teams know he is a good teamate and will "say" the right things in the MEDIA...nothing more. He is going to detroit, chicago, or pittsburgh more than likely

and on a side note , do not not discount money as a factor , with the recent drop in the canadian dollar Kesler would be better suited to collect the remaining years on his contract in the states and there better tax brackets

  5. well we can't just fire the GM after 1 bad season, on top of 7 consective very good seasons. This is pretty much the same team he he had last year, so why fire the GM? What did he do? literallly nothing, yes! Nothing! I don't think anyone including the fans saw this coming. If David Poile and Lou Lamerioulleo still has their job after years and years of failed hockey I think MIke Gillis will not get fired because he's achieved more then both those GM's Since he (mike Gillis) has joined the leauge as a General manger.

Why fire Mike Gillis? I don't understand you guys. I really don't. What did you want him to do anyways? He can't really prevent the team from struggling when you can't even anticipate it to happen. LIke all of a sudden they just decided to suck! yes! the team! They decided to suck out of nowhere, we won 7 games in a row, we thought things were fine, then they started to lose and suck! Same team that won 7 in a row, now we are calling for Mike Gillis's head? You guys are unbelievable, I stand by my word.

If David Poile and Lou Lammerou still has their job, Mike Gillis will too.

GMMG has not even come close to what Lou has and thats a couple rings....

  6. ok i have a plan-i need to win the next 5 or 6 Lotto Max jackpots in a row, then buy the Canucks!!

i will then fire everybody involved in this fiasco, hire scouts to actually watch the WHL, and a coach who knows how to coach OFFENCE!!!!

i will also, to the benefit of team morale , TRADE any SORRY ASS PLAYERS who do not want to be here!!!

ps. any help from BCLC Canuck fans would be appreciated. <_<

  7. although i do like Tanev's potential , i would be worried that the way he tends to get hit and the positions he finds himself in would eventually lead to injuries, of all the canucks d core he tends to be on the receiving end of solid hits that if he doesn't approve his on-ice awareness Will lead to injury ...so imo we should sign him to a 1or 2 yr contract and if he continues to develop then with more cap flexibility in the future lock him up long term..
