Saw Spencer Martin shut out the San Diego Gulls back in December. Looked solid (cool mask too). Hoping for the best.
Dries scored in that game too.
Let's go!!

Kinda baffling to see people offer full value for a player that has basically only listed two teams he’s willing to go to.
This is a desperate team here. Jimbo needs to take full advantage.
Exactly this. SB, LE and OJ (or JV) for OEL. Take it or leave it Coyotes.

Is there going to be a training camp thread?

Likely all games will be on NBC networks, much like all playoff games have been the past couple of years. I live in SD and have the NHL package.
oops, just re-read. I probably gave the wrong info since I'm talking TV and you said gamecenter.(stream).

Oiler's new coach going to try and turn them to defensive team...2-1 OT final. Great game for Markstrom. QH with winner on pp in OT.

If anything they move AG to the wing........3rd line cman is a spot that you have to have someone who can go up against top 6 players on other teams......not just on faceoffs, but in the defensive zone as well.
I don't disagree. I think that is a good reason to have Sutter on his line at C/W and gradually give AG more responsibility at C after seeing how much he can handle.

just a guess not an opinion:
Gaudette stays, likely move is Sutter to his wing or on 4th line wing
TG likes Motte, he is staying
Jake stays but sits at least 1st game
14F 7D to start season
Assuming no trades:
Ferland/EP/Brock
Pearson/Horvat/Miller (seemed to be put together alot in preseason)
Baer/AG/Sutter (or Leivo)
Motte/Beagle/Leivo (or Sutter)
Fantenberg stays if healthy and Biega is waived
Goldy is waived if he can't be traded
LE stays but sits in pressbox with JV
Other thoughts:
Hopeful Quinn Hughes is as good as he flashes but concerned he's already being anointed in the "core 4"
Pearson will be an early casualty if his game doesn't improve from preseason
Troy Stetcher is underrated by his coach (speaking of which, I'm not sold on Baumgartner, not sure why)
Can't wait for the season to start!

I like JT Miller
I don't like having to give up a 1st for him.
50yrs of being a Canuck fan and I can't help but think we win the lottery in 2 yrs
I will be interested in seeing the prices paid in other trades this offseason around the league. What other teams get for their 1st round picks in particular.

And I was against giving up a 1st for Barrie? Seems like a dream now.

If there's a 1st involved, it HAS to be lottery protected.
Honestly, I don't like the idea of coughing up a 1st at all. What happened to "build through the draft"?
The kids on here all got excited at the prospect of getting a new toy today.
I'd love Barrie but not at the expense of next year's 1st, protected or not.

would rather wait a year and get his rights for a pick and negotiate then, and keep our 1st next year
I would love Barrie but I'm not giving up next year's 1st.

Just now, Pears said:
We don’t even know if Barrie would sign with us if he got free agency. These are the kind of risks you gotta take to improve your club.
but he would sign a long extension? seems risky.

so Canucks going to give up Jake and next yrs 1st for a guy they could have for nothing in a year?

RE potential Canucks/AVs trade:
Too bad that last year the Canucks didn't have a 28 yr old top pair RD to trade for a package of a big, strong, fast, young former top 10 pick on the verge of being a 20 goal scorer PLUS a first round pick in this year's draft.....OH WAIT

Edler to the Flyers July 1. Book it.

Going to miss his personality in the Canucks' coverage mix. Loved the Provies/Athletties (joined the Athletic for the Athletties)
Really feel for his wife and young kids. I have an 8 and 6 year old myself and that picture of them really makes me sad.
Donated to their Go Fund Me and encourage everyone here to do the same if you can.
RIP Botch.

Not sure if Building Brock has it's own thread, but it should. I'm over 50 and been a fan of this team since I knew what hockey was. After watching Building Brock, then the Petey After Hours I have to say that this group is quickly becoming my favourite group of Canucks, maybe ever! The core all has such different personality types but all seem like really good guys who make it easy to cheer for them. Can't wait for more of the core pieces to fill in on this team, and watching these kids become seasoned vets, and looking forward to a decade of hopefully a contending team!

Was on the fence so far with this guy, although I'll admit I hadn't actually seen alot of him, but I'm starting to feel good about what I'm hearing. I hope he can gain some strength along the way.

I know GMGB could be trying to disguise his hand, but he's never really done that before, and those comments above from him re Glass makes me think he won't be taking him.
Yup.
