  1. Garrison can't possibly be a one-year wonder, because he spent two years as Florida's top shutdown defenseman, and that's what we signed him to be. He could score zero goals this year and still be worth his contract; if anyone seriously expected him to score 16, somebody would have offered him in excess of 6 million per.

  2. Why is hockeyyinsiderr not seen as a credible source? This guy is more credible than anyone else in the rumour biz. People who say that "oh, he's just throwing crap to the wall to see what sticks" are not really interested in rumours, are they? They just want to know what's for sure going to happen.

Is it just because he's an anonymous twitter account? I know most mainstream journalists hate these guys because they are making journalists obsolete.

It would be nice for the admins to spell out how they arrive at these decisions.

  3. I propose that the "invalid sources" list, and the concept of an invalid source, be eliminated. I realize the admins/Canucks org. want people to be able to just read the thread titles and know with some reliability what is going on. Kind of like just reading the headlines. I posit that this is neither desirable nor worthwhile.

  4. Another signing that was broken by @NHLSourcessay today (Now made official on Sharks twitter)....people need to understand what rumors are....people expect every rumor to come true, its so sad.

Well if he's really taking other peoples' reports and passing them off as his own AND blocking anybody who calls him on it as standard practice...

  5. He has changed his Twitter bio again.

    Here it is now:

He is their "NHL Insider" and is tweeting for them. Therefore since HendricksHockey is an invalid source, their twitter accounts are as well. I can't put it any simpler than that.

I guess that is one way to interpret that bio. I wouldn't assume from that that he is "tweeting for them" or that anybody who writes there and has a twitter account is one of "their twitter accounts" but I don't really know.

  6. Yeah, if all he/they are is a rumour aggregator than it makes sense, I was unclear on what was meant by "affiliated" here. "HH insider and blogger don't remember to what extent"...is kind of my point, if it was a guilt by association thing because he has a blog on their site it wouldn't make sense to me, but if he's tweeting on the site's behalf, or really just repeating stuff without acknowledging it, it makes sense...and this is the first place I've seen that accusation made, let alone substantiated.

  7. I couldn't have said it better myself. If you follow enough people on Twitter you know he just takes their stories and portrays them as his.

By all means, let us in on who to follow then, because an assertion like that should have to be proven. Dregger barely reports on fugg all! I don't just want the stuff that ends up actually happening, I want to know what people are talking about including the stuff that never comes to anything.

Trevor Presiloski summed it up beautifully, since he [NHLSourcesSay] is affiliated with HH he is a invalid source as well.

I don't get it. HH is so bad that anybody who is affiliated with them is guilty by association? "The owner is a chubby Habs fan who has nothing to do with sports journalism" is summing it up beautifully? That's an argument?

  8. He doesn't break the story he just copies other people and acts like he broke it. He has multiple times copied false info. then he just deletes it. He's a bigger fraud than Eklund.

Isn't it about time we heard an explanation from the people who make the rules? An assertion like you just made has to be proven, also. I think @NHLSourcesSay has been pretty reliable for a year now.

  9. Yeah, I remember when Naslund and Demitra looked awesome with the twins.

Actually Demitra was fantastic with the twins. Burrows and Carter have had the most success obviously. Naslund and Pyatt weren't bad. After that it's pretty hard to find linemates who have gelled with them.

  10. Does the OP not remember how Burrows and Kesler carried the team - and became the team's top scoring line - when the Sedins disappeared down the stretch. Burrows and Henrik Sedin had as many points after the all-star break. If Burrows scores at that pace for a whole season he will break 20 goals this season easily. Jeez, the OP's name is Clutch and Burrows is the clutch-iest guy left on the team, but even if he didn't score he would still be worth the money.
