Thanks to Benning and the whole coaching staff selling him on the team as well as Boeser.
Just cause he's a fan doesn't mean he was always going to sign here. Lots of good offers were made to him. He could have easily pulled a Schultz and gone to Edmonton.
Give credit where credit is due.
Key words: could have
But he didn't.
He stated that he wanted to be a Canuck, and the team that he was interested in him also showed the same interest so it turned out that way. It's pretty straightforward.
I don't need to sympathize and tell management "good job" each time they do something. It's their job.

The chance to play in Edmonton with McDavid in their brand new facility would be enticing to any young player.
This was definitely not a given.
Well it happened.
He's a Canuck like he said he wanted to be.

I find it funny how some people are saying that Ritchie and Kassian are basically the same players. A lot of pro hockey scouts/experts are saying that he is very similar to Jamie Benn in terms of play and Benn is anything but Kassian.

I'd rather the canucks pick an offensive center (1st line potential center) such as Nylander as I am not sold on our prospects down the middle (with the exception of Horvat) being a strong force for us in the future. There is a significant drop between Horvat and Gaunce in terms of potential, and Schroeder doesn't seem to be an ideal top center for us. Although, Virtanen is interesting; there is no doubt he is a special player.
Virtanen eerily reminds me a LOT of an Evander Kane/Iginla type of player. I can see why some would compare him to booth, but I think Booth (before his fatal injury) was more a guy that would mostly drive to the net and use his speed to dangle and score goals. I've seen a lot of Hitmen games this year and Virtanen is always contributing; whether if it's scoring goals, making hits, killing penalties, he's always involved somehow and you really notice it. His most eye-catching attribute above all, is that he has a great, hard shot that basically almost always hits the target. That to me screams a young Iginla. If you have a chance at Iginla, you pick him.

It's kind of a given that Kesler wouldn't say "I did ask for a trade/I would waive" out in public. Kesler is 30 years old now. He's not getting any younger and he's due to take a fair shot at the championship. Any comment instigating a desired trade would just create unnecessary controversy and ill-feelings between him and his team-mates. If the rumours were true and Kes did have a chance at going to Pittsburgh or Chicago, there is no doubt in my mind that he would've taken it and run. I also wouldn't mind letting him go for the right price.

Can't we just trade him?

Canucks lose 7-0 . Anaheim exposes the Canucks for the truly mediocre, fragile team they are as opposed to one of the elite. AGAIN

Didn't Gillis say he WOULD NOT approach anyone with an NTC on team1040 a few days ago? (which is like half the team)..... What is going on in Gillis' mind?.. Getting a former agent and making him GM was the stupidest move ever... "No room for feelings" eh? What a hypocrite.

Well,.......... at least our crowd was more lively tonight than other nights. I went to the game and it was the loudest I've heard the building in a long time.

Gillis continues to flabbergast me.@DarrenDreger: Glen Gulutzan is among the stable of coaches the Vancouver Canucks have interest in.
