  1. long range models are increasingly converging on the

idea of retrogression of the long wave ridge from the western U.S

out to 140-145w. As is typically the case in discontinuous

retrogression...models have difficulty latching onto how the process

evolves and how strong individual short wave features moving through

the long wave pattern will be. It does appear that a colder pattern

is setting up for later in the weekend as a strong Arctic high over

the Yukon sends a chunk into the Pacific northwest. There is

considerable question on the strength of the shortwave that moves

    across the area Saturday.

Looks like there's another arctic blast coming in next week.

  2. Somebody tell Translink to go screw themselves. I waited outside for 2 hrs, in a span where 5 buses should've come, only 1 went by....and it was full. The 501 is a vital route too.

    I'm staying home. Enough.

  3. There are absolutely no 501's going to Surrey Central right now so I cant get to Kwantlen. Will just skip that class and try for the 12pm class.

I hate how they think everyone drives!!!! Thats why it never closes....

  4. What a kick in the nuts. Either snow or cancel school or dont ****ing snow at all.

It's raining like piss now, I can see those huge bloody slush pools on the sidewalks waiting to drench me. 3hr commute to get to kwantlen (on normal days I'd get up @ 6 instead of 4) by bus and I'm gonna miss the game tonight.

    RAIN MORE, MELT YOU MOTHER****ERS!!!!!

  5. ^ nope it's already getting warmer outside.

Snows gonna be over within the next few min....It's really warm off the coast and as soon as we get that southwesterly wind we should see temps shooting up to 6 or 7 degrees! The end is near folks!!! Unfortunately it will create huge slush puddles. Most of the drains near my townhouse are absolutely clogged with ice and snow....no shoveled sidewalks+clogged rains+heavy warm rain (tues-thurs)=possible urban flooding. :o Clear those god damn drains people.

See, a background in climatology becomes useful...

Did you know the weathernetwork 14 day forecasts relies mostly on the good ol farmers almanac? Law of averages, they just gather up precip and temp data from the past 42 years and and come up with the forecast for the 7 day period after the initial 7 days.

  6. Just woke up and HOLY ****!!!!! We had at least a meter on the ground here in Surrey...no ones shoveling or plowing the streets here...Well at least it's raining now...walkings gonna be a kick in the crotch the rest of the week.

  7. Are you guys serious? We only got 20-30 cm today...Does it really make a difference whether you shovel 3-5 cm vs 10cm? Gimme a break....people in Calgary and every other sane city just wait till the next morning and besides...who shovels snow off their balcony? Is there a need to do that early in the damn morning? This place is screwed up...

  8. People here get way too giddy and excited when it snows. Ok, you can shovel your drive way, but why do it 10+ times a day? Why clear your balcony 8 times a day? Why even go out? Some people have nothing to do and feel as if they constantly needa shovel their balcony...Just frack off and relax or sleep in....frack.

  9. I pray for the temps to rise and the snow to melt by Monday... I don't want to be a frozen Hermit for my routine Ducks autograph stakeout outside GM Place...

Wishful thinking...I think the cities gonna be screwed come monday.

edit:..10-15 cm??!?! (They said 30-50 cm earlier)...oh well if I have to walk there, I will...
