Jake Virtanen: "After growing up a loyal fan of the Canucks and Captain Trevor Linden..."
*cough*hometowndiscountwhenweresignhim*cough*

I want Richie at #6 but I fear Burke will take him and we will not have a chance.
Really, if Burke does this, and another team chooses outside the big five, it is only good news for us.
Ok, here's the dream #6 pick: Reinhart.
How? Like this:
Some team picks Nylander because they think he is as good as some here on CDC say he is.
Some team picks Ehlers for the same reason.
Burke takes Richie for his toughness with skill.
NYI take a goalie like Ville Husso or Thatcher Demko because Snow used to be a goalie and NYI management are a bunch of fruit-cakes.
Ekblad goes to the other top five team.
We get to pick from Reinhart, Bennett, Draisaitl, Dal Colle.
Step away from the crack pipe.

Virtanen selected by Craig Button at 6th.

Frick! S'all right.

Don't want to see Canucks at 7...
-
Hoping for Virtanen at 6th.

I guess those reps are safe untill the moon comes out: Travis Viola

if the canucks win the lottery they need to draft ekblad for themselves.
Would you take their 4th overall and their 2015 1st rounder? I would.

"IF" we got the first overall, is there any team in the top4 we could trade down and still maximize our asset return without kicking ourself in the end and thinking back how we could of just drafted 1st overall?
I'll be shocked if Ekblad doesn't go #1. Do we then trade the #1 to Edmonton (most likely the highest return for him) for #3 overall + prospects/picks? I think so.
Then by winning the lottery, we pick up #4 overall (still a blue chip forward) + at least 1 2nd rounder and/or high-end prospect.
I wonder if Edmonton/Calgary/Buffalo would trade us their 2015 first round pick for our 2014 6th (or 7th) overall pick?
-
What are the chances someone like Roland McKeown drops far enough for us to pick him with our second rounder?
I'd be really happy but highly unlikely. He is in the top 5 of best Dman available. He'd drop if he was 5'11 and under 180. Certainly be a nice snag at ~ #36.

Everyone knows Ehlers plays with Drouin - without looking, Mantha plays with who?
If Drouin is this super hockey god as several posters have argued, then we shouldn't pick Ehlers.
-
Drouin is still a more complete player. Just stating Drouin should have had a better season. His value has dropped off a bit considering other players have played well in the NHL and scored 20+ goals (Monahan). I know the Q's stats are inflated due to their emphasis on offence. Just because a player scores a lot in juniors, it doesn't always translate to points in the NHL.
Mantha improved significantly over his draft year and is closing the gap between the two.
-
im talking about the qmjhl clown. he has more goals over the 2 seasons because druin has missed games due to injury and playing in 2 yes 2 count them TWO WORLD JR. TOURNAMENTS. ehos the troll. also more points does not equal better player. hockey games are won and lost on ice. not paper. troll
108 posts since 09. find your way back to whatever bridge you crawled our from.
Why are you resorting to name calling and then boasting about your posts? Please stick to the topic. CDC deserves better.
-
Mantha is also 1 year older. Don't really know what you're saying here, Drouin will play in the NHL next season, and i'm sure he's a future star player. Probably a safer bet than Mantha.
Drouin didn't age? Is this a superpower?
-
are you taking into fact that drouin has played less games due to 1 more world jrs. and injury.
there is a reason drouin was chosen top 5 and mantha 20th. give it time. in that time your account will have long been abandoned. im sure you'll still be around though. making more ridiculous claims under a new name.
He played 1 more game in the World's yet Mantha outpointed him there. Mantha was more of a gamble. Drouin hasn't really increased his output. Mantha has, thus he has progressed more than Drouin. Keep trolling though.
-
Cause obviously size = skill, right?
You probably only read the last 2 lines, right?
-
CDC...
Drouin - 2.35 PPG
Mantha - 2.10 PPG
Drouin also has 10 MORE points than Mantha in the same amount of GP in the playoffs..
In last 2 years: Mantha = 117 goals to Drouin = 88
Mantha is 6'5 - 205lbs
Drouin is 5'11 - 185lbs

Not the defenseman! Like Ehlers, Moller lit up his home league (Sweden) as an underager playing with the older kids. He brought his game to North America and lit up the WHL. Drafted #52 overall he continued to score in the WHL and had a decent debut with the Kings. He could'nt find his consistency and was just an above average AHL'er. He plays in his homeland now.
-
7-2 Win over Guelph. Horvat had an assist.
-
Have a look at Oscar Moller's stats if you like what you see in Ehlers.
******************************************************************************************************************************
From the 2013 Draft - as far as I'm concerned, Anthony MANTHA has progressed ahead of Drouin.
-
I haven't seen one of our prospects be that good at faceoffs in a long time. He was killing it even at the World Jrs (except that one he lost that went into the net).
-
not to be rude but they're wrong
http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/schedule/show/game/67080
he is the only player not named mcdavid brown or fox to get a point tonight though lmao
He was credited with scoring Erie's second goal. His 5th.
-
I wouldn't trade up for anyone. I am a hoping Nick Ehlers falls to us but here is my the 7 that I rate before him that I believe the Canucks should take as BPA:
Ekblad - Clearly the top pick in the draft.
Reinhart - Best of the bloodline.
Dal Colle - Only higher selection for the Canucks than Bennett because he is Cassels' team mateBennett - smaller but grittier than Dal Colle but basically 50/50 with him
Draisaitl - solid no risk
Virtanen - solid home-grown product. Canucks rarely do this but this is one they should go for if selecting this high r if still available.
Perlini - I see this guy getting 100+ points w/ Niagara next yrEhlers - best skills but high risk. Top Q skater available.
I am more excited to miss the playoffs and grabbing one of these guys. No way do we do anything past surprising StLouis.

Alain Vigneault to be named Dallas stars head coach next week.

Axel Holmström isn't even ranked in the top 50 Euros. Could be a steal in the later rounds. 6' 200lbs. Linemate of Nylander in the U18s.
