This here is a man that's passionate about coaching:
One thing people have to consider about hiring Trotz is the impact it will have on attracting free agents. He has a very solid reputation as a players coach, and someone you want to play for. Add that to an organization that wants to win and is willing to spend, and you have a very desirable package.
What a beauty...
Wouldn't be crazy to think if Trotz is hired he would bring back Peter Horachek?

That's what it's all about.
Sure everyone loved the idea of having the Sedins kill penalties and block shots, but in reality it was idiotic.
This coach did not use them effectively and burnt them out by the halfway point.
Is it kinda odd?...
Aren't these guys the super athletes at training camp?

Stupid, If Torts was fired tonight, it would be one of the most stupidest thing ever.
You don't go around and fire a coach under 1 season. It takes time to adapt and play the system.
Do you want us to be like the Oilers? New coach every year, and last every year.
Agreed. "Resetting" the organization all the time will just make things a hell of a lot slower.
Gaborik was still able to gather two 40 goal seasons under Torts. This lack of offence is just baffling.

I honestly don't think Pittsburgh is the best team to trade Kesler to. IMO Detroit, Philly, and Columbus are all better options where we would get much better value from.
The 1st rounder should be higher from those teams as well.
Edit: Unless the addition of Kesler really bumps those teams up in the standings.

I like where Gallagher was going with his article and his reference to the pronger trade.
I also kinda like the idea the penguins writer was throwing around.
If we can get sutter pouliot 1st, I say take it. Sutter is no Kesler but pouliot has a good chance of being a high impact player. On top of that you get a beauty young third line centre and another first. That's 3 young players almost nullifying a rebuild when you look at the prospects we already have.
Then you go back to what gallahger was saying about a second deal.. You make a hockey trade in the summer with edler. Or perhaps even make a package around him as you just added 3 good young pieces you can afford to throw a gaunce Jensen or corrado in there. We'd essentially have the pieces to go out and aquire a good young Kesler replacement.
Sutter can anchor that 3C for a lot of years, and Kesler wont be haunting us as much over in the East.
Wow a team with crosby, Malkin and Kesler.....

Hamhuis being moved is not even an option. He's worth at least 5.5M and 6+ on the open market.
No chance we trade our undisputed top d-man.
I don't understand why people even think to argue this, I get his value is high but he's simply too good to let go; he took a hometown discount and he's efforts off the ice are just as solid as they are on it. He's going no where.

Take every single non-goaltender on the Canucks roster and that is a list of players who are not playing their role for the team right now. This was a big game. The best players needed to be the best players. Way too many players slumping, way too many players not playing the roles efficiently.
One goal. And after that? No goals and no generation of chances till the final minute of play. It's not that we didn't try hard. It's that we were just overmatched.

Maybe. I know a relative with season tickets and he already invited me to go when they play (they play twice in Winnipeg (January and March). It depends on what's on the agenda, but I'll probably be going to one of them.
And yes, I will be wearing a 94 Bure a few times next semester.
