  1. Petey hockey IQ, skills has been a good match with Mikheyev great speed, forechecking and defensive game.  Both has different skillset that complements each other’s game very well, I’m excited we are going to see this duo grow together for the next 3+ years.  Bo and J.T has been a good duo as well, Bo finally got a top 6 winger and J.T having the centre that makes his game easier on both ends.  All that saying we need another top 4D doesn’t need to be an RD like everyone thinking of but an LD that can solidify the 3rd pairing which may come cheaper and step up for Hughes and OEL if they are hurt.

I think. Bruce said Demko played hurt the last 2 weeks of the season, hes gonna be even better this season I think.

I was looking at other teams forward group and none are better on paper imo. I mean it's pretty exciting to see 10 guys who should score 20 goals, heck maybe 11, that is some serious depth. Especially when 4 should hit 30+  Petey, Brock, Horvat, JT, with a few others close to 25.

Top goalie in the West and a Dgroup top 3 5on5 GA last season and 2 great additions on the pk that was 80% under Bruce.

Oh and a 23 yearold D who is likely hitting 78+ points.

I know were used to doom and gloom but we have a really strong team and every playoff team in the west aside from the kings is weaker or at best status quo.

I think the Oilers made a big mistake with Jack and there D is worse without DK.

A full year of Bruce is also huge and the natural evolution of the younger guys can't be understated.

Petey is going to put it all together, imagine a full year of Petey from February on? Brocks hopefully mentally and physically good to go and a full year of top six Podz? Why wouldn't we be excited for this  team.

Now just announce the flying skate is officially the 3rd and I'll really be happy.

Well said about our forward group it might be one of the best we ever had to start a year and a lot of unknown potential who could breakout big time this year along with the core  players will make Miller (would like to resign) expendable to get that missing RD If he’s not going to sign before TDL.

Flying Skate Logo is one of the best ever made League wide, should of been locked as 3rd jerseys years ago it’s about time they made it official.

Amazing years ahead just hope management don’t mess up this one.

Demko ran out of gas not because we dug ourself a big hole.. it’s how he’s been having to stand on his head every night to keep the team in while they no show 1st period every game with or without Bruce. While I don’t see this team being competitive against the top teams in the west. I do agree we are close need a few pieces but problem is just getting 1 is already hard enough let alone couple

Yes it’s not easy to find those missing pieces, but we do have assets to trade for missing pieces it’s up to management to play their cards right and not overpay.

It's not often a team flips a switch over night and just becomes dominant.   It takes time.   And for sure part of that is getting to the post season and finding out what those extra 4-28 games feel like.   Podz talking about how going to an NHL schedule (Swedes also plus other developmental leagues) is an entirely different thing.   It's not easy on most younger bodies.   Takes time to develop the man strength and conditioning.     Personally also believe that luck now plays a lot a playoff teams fortunes ... a bounce here a bounce there - a hot goalie.  Team injuries etc.   And that the more reps, the better chance of getting to the goal.   Sure the big boys usually win the cup, and you need to be good to be lucky.   But a final appearance to me at least, is way more fun then perpetual rebuilding, just to get a McDavid or Mathews ... and well what have they won?

Yes we got a lot of young European players which will need some time at the NHL level with scheduling and conditioning that will be up to the coaching stuff to recognized that and rest players better.  We got a solid team moving forward for years to come, if we play our cards right we should be a contender within 2 - 3 years.  Franchise players aren’t always consensus 1st overall picks they just show the tools to be the best of the class, work ethic and dedication to improving weakness along with IQ can turn any players confident thru the roof and become something special.  Markus Naslund is a good example of a European needing many years before figuring it all out.

If it was a competitive 1st round sure. But if it’s a sweep? Not sure what that does. In terms of playoff experience they have 3 rounds worth with the playin. They need competitive experience not go in and get blown out by the likes of Colorado with a burned out goalie. Demko ran out of steam at the start of march last season his goals against was like over 3 and barely .900 in sv percentage the rest of the way

Demko ran out of gas because we got ourself in a big hole to start the year, we had to live and die with our best players down the stretch .  Colorado is great team, but anything can happen in a playoff matchup, we have the goalie that can steal any series combined with the forward group we will ice this year can match up with the best of them.  I don’t see us getting sweep by anyone just as we thought in the bubble would get destroyed by the defending champs St. Louis Blues that series should prove anything can happen.  We can’t be afraid of who we face if we got the team to win it we gotta go thru the best of them doesn’t matter which round it is, we have good young core of players that are getting better, I’m extremely excited for this year on paper we might be icing one of the best lineups to start a year for along time. Just need that missing RD for Hughes and the sky is the limit for this team.  Trust and believe in this team we’re going to be a force this year.

Let’s just ignore the fact they beaten a team that made the playoff a grand total of 13 times in 5 months in the 32 games against playoff teams since Bruce took over.

sure the canucks will probably end up being a playoff team if they continue to beat up on the non playoff teams. But doesn’t mean much if u get bounced in the 1st.

I believe many would be more happy to see them lose in the 1st round then not make the playoffs at all.  You’ll be surprise how much 1 round of playoff experience will do for the future of this franchise.
