  1. Stone Cold says Reigns isn't ready

This week on the “Steve Austin Show”, host Steve Austin welcomed PWTorch.com editor Wade Keller, and the two talked the controversy surrounding the end of the Royal Rumble PPV, which saw Roman Reigns win the Royal Rumble match.

Austin had the following to say regarding why fans seemed to be so upset with the decision to have Reigns win the 30 man over the top rope match:

“If you’re trying to earn the fans respect, you’re really starting in the hole because people feel like he’s being forced down their throats. He’s not ready. They’re looking at the body of work. With the two other guys — three total in the Shield — he’s doing one-third of the work, come in and shine and get out. Now all the sudden you’ve got all these gaps to fill in the blanks, and he hasn’t been able to fill in those blanks.”

Austin went on to say he feels Roman Reigns “took a nap” during the Royal Rumble match by spending too much time in the corner. “I hate to keep going down that road, but that’s what happened. He goes into a corner and takes a nap,” Austin said.

Wade Keller then asserted sources close to Reigns in WWE have told him Reigns is overly confident about his position in WWE, and Austin reacted by saying the following:

“You can’t take [your spot in WWE] as a given. As soon as you think you’re entitled, you’re thinking it’s a given — no, bad things are gonna happen because it’s conveyed in your presentation. It’s like when Alabama took on Ohio State. Ohio State was number four, Alabama number one, and I think Alabama assumed they were supposed to win that game and they got the h*** beat out of them because Ohio State went and punched them in the mouth. You can’t ever assume that everything’s just gonna happen because then you get a h*** of a wakeup call

  2. Vince is upset over a botch that happened during Royal Rumble Match. Nice to see where his priorities are. He's more worried about that then for the 2nd year in a row of setting up the Rumble winner to fail.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is said to be "furious" over an apparent botch during the 2015 Royal Rumble Match at the recent Royal Rumble event.

The botch is said to have involved Titus O'Neil, who was eliminated after being in the match for a total of four seconds. According to the report, O'Neil was actually supposed to be eliminated after being in the match for only one second, which would tie Santino Marella's record as the shortest time in a Royal Rumble Match. However, due to a "timing issue" between O'Neil, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose, O'Neil was eliminated at the four-second mark.

The reason for McMahon being upset about the spot is due to that particular spot being the only one that needed to be perfectly timed.

  3. Backstage talk on Daniel Bryan and how they view him. DB is the new Christian.

It was said this week by a WWE source that no matter how hard the fans rally for Daniel Bryan and no matter how much he gets over, top WWE officials are not going to see him as a top guy that can be the face of the company.

Before the news came out this week that WWE was planning on doing Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler at WrestleMania 31, there was a feeling among many that officials would not give in like they did last year and Bryan wouldn't be getting pushed to the WrestleMania main event again.

With that said, there was a rumor that Ziggler vs. Bryan could open WrestleMania 31

  4. Lesnar is terrible on the mic too, that's why Heyman speaks for him.

Rusev seems to be getting better but without Svetlana it wouldn't be the same.

Then again, I liked Rusev the moment he came on the scene. He's a big guy that can move.

Cena will bury Rusev and he'll become a comedy act like Kozlov and The Great Khali.

  5. Speculation is the promo Bray Wyatt cut on SD that he was talking about The Undertaker.

There's a lot of speculation that Bray Wyatt was talking about The Undertaker during his promo on last night's WWE SmackDown, seen above. Wyatt mentioned that he fears nothing, living or dead. He also said after what he does next, it will be hard for the WWE Universe to ever smile again At last word, WWE officials were still not sure on The Undertaker's status for WrestleMania 31 but with the Royal Rumble over, they likely got an answer and it appears they are moving forward with the feud.

  6. WWE has new policy that employees and talent can't date.

    - WWE officials have a new rule that talent & office workers and talent & production people are not allowed to date. The company does not want staff and talent interacting past the professional level.

Sounds like we may have seen the last of The Bunny.

    - The Bunny may be gone from WWE as there were plans at one point for a Bunny vs. Adam Rose exchange at the Rumble but that never happened.

  7. News on what HHH's big announcement could be.

I'm thinking Reigns title opportunity is on the line.

Triple H's big announcement for Raw next week is expected to be something along the lines of a multi-man match for the Fast Lane event involving the likes of Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and others. It will set up the WrestleMania direction for all the top names who don't already have that.

  8. Mickie James returns to TNA. It's being reported that it's short-term return.

Former WWE Star and Intercontinental Champion debuted at 2/20 Impact Tapings.

Former WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre (Drew Galloway) made his TNA debut at tonight's Impact Wrestling tapings in Glasgow, Scotland. After the main event of Al Snow vs. Grado from British Bootcamp, The BDC came out and attacked Grado. This led to Galloway coming out to a huge pop and making the save for Grado. The debut should air on the February 20th Impact episode.

As noted, former WWE Superstar Drew Galloway (Drew McIntyre) made his TNA Impact Wrestling debut at today's tapings in Glasgow, Scotland.Galloway has been in talks with TNA for at least 4-5 weeks. He has signed with the company and will be appearing on the rest of the UK tour dates.

  9. WWE is no longer branding WM with numbers. More evidence of Vince being so out of touch.

WWE is reportedly no longer branding WrestleMania with numbers, at least with the logo. Instead, symbols are being used to distinguish each event. It was announced last week that WrestleMania will come to AT&T Stadium in Texas on April 3, 2016 and "32" is nowhere to be seen on the logo.

It instead features a star to represent the "Lone Star State." On top of that, the logo for this year's WrestleMania features a "Play" button. to represent Silicon Valley, which is near Levi's Stadium, in Santa Clara, California.

This is according to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, who said on Wrestling Observer Radio today that the events are no longer being branded with numbers "because Vince [McMahon] thinks it makes it sound too old."

  10. "On a related note, it was said that The Rock was not happy at the Rumble. Rock was presumably upset over the Bryan elimination and the reaction but that hasn't been confirmed yet."

Rock couldn't give 2 shakes about Bryan's elimination, he was pissed the fans were booing his cousin.

Rock and Cena both got booed at WM when Rock raised Cena's arm after the match.

  11. Backstage News On Daniel Bryan's elimination from RR. Vince really does view Bryan as B+ player, and as someone already mentioned the modern day version of Christian.

Regarding Daniel Bryan possibly being put into a three-way at WrestleMania 31 due to the heat from fans over his Royal Rumble elimination last night, word from backstage at the Rumble is that will not be happening. Word coming out of the Rumble is that Vince feels putting Bryan into another three-way would be a repeat and that they would be "going to the well" too many times. WWE officials expected the backlash over Bryan's elimination but were surprised at the level of it. Due to the atmosphere in the building before the Rumble match even began, officials panicked early in the show and moved some things around.

On a related note, it was said that The Rock was not happy at the Rumble. Rock was presumably upset over the Bryan elimination and the reaction but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

  12. Backstage News on The Undertaker's status.

Coming out of the WWE Royal Rumble weekend, it's said that the only concrete matches for WrestleMania 31 are Sting vs. Triple H, John Cena vs. Rusev and Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker are also expected but not a lock. However, last word on The Undertaker was that WWE officials still did not know if he was returning for sure or not. The fact that there is still uncertainty this close to the event is not a good sign but Taker still could appear in a non-wrestling role if he chooses not to wrestle. Another WrestleMania match rumored this week is Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton.

  13. Possible WM plans for Daniel Bryan

Sheamus was not backstage at the WWE Royal Rumble on Sunday and it was another creative decision that has delayed his return. We noted during WrestleMania XXX season last year that WWE had plans for Sheamus to face Daniel Bryan in New Orleans. Plans were changed when CM Punk left the company and Bryan ended up being pushed to the
    WrestleMania main event instead.

Word coming out of the Royal Rumble this week is that plans for Sheamus vs. Bryan III at WrestleMania are back on for this year's event in Santa Clara. The two wrestled to a No Contest in a Lumberjack Match at WrestleMania 27 and then Sheamus defeated Bryan in 18 seconds to win the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 28. Plans still call for Sheamus to return as a heel and it looks like he could be getting involved with Bryan upon returning.

  14. More Royal Rumble possible spoilers.

There is talk that Sheamus will not be in Philadelphia for the Royal Rumble after all. Also, The Rock noted on Twitter that he was in South Philadelphia, posting a picture of himself there. The Rumble will take place tomorrow in the neighborhood. And we can confirm that he was seen at the WWE worker hotel this evening.

If you want to start a buzz, that is a pretty good way to do it.

  15. Report that Goldust is retiring from in-ring soon.

According to PWInsider, one of the most talked about stories within WWE this past week was how Goldust is wrapping up his in-ring career.

The talk is that Goldust will begin transitioning from a wrestler back to a full-time agent & producer soon. The change won't happen until after WrestleMania 31, so Goldust still has a few more months left as a full-time wrestler.

It's believed the tag team of Goldust and Stardust will start to slowly fade out over the next few months. The idea is that Stardust will be a singles wrestler. There's no word yet if they plan on finally doing the Goldust vs. Stardust match but it's always possible.

    Goldust is denying report:

    I am not retiring lol

    -- GOLDUST (@Goldust) January 23, 2015

Haha I'll retire when I'm dead

    -- GOLDUST (@Goldust) January 23, 2015

  16. Royal Rumble rumors

We've noted how Randy Orton, Bo Dallas and Diamond Dallas Page are expected to be surprise entrants in the 30-man WWE Royal Rumble main event on Sunday. Team 3D were rumored at one point but we haven't heard any updates on them appearing. Another name rumored for the Rumble is NXT Champion Sami Zayn.

In other Royal Rumble rumors, a Sting appearance to further the feud with Triple H is possible and a full babyface turn by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is expected but not confirmed after what happened on RAW. Lesnar will be defending his title against John Cena and Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat.
