  1. This whole deflated ball thing is ridiculous. Wouldn't The Colts have the same advantage then?

Anyways its gonna be a tough SB for my 'Hawks. A good portion of the legion of boom are injured. Wilson and Lynch will need to pull a rabbit outta a hat.

  2. Just finished

He does not jump into the play too often. More often, he is the guy furthest back because he prefers the safe play.

From the games i have watched, his defensive game (next to his size) is his biggest strength. This is a very smart player defensively, always in position, active stick, plays the body when necessary, and as you will see in the video, he makes players pay in front of the net. His reach knocks away a lot of pucks and thwarts many entrances into his zone. He is nearly impossible to move once he has body position on the opponent.

Also from what i can see, his shots get blocked a lot, which may also be what Benning is referring to when he commented on the lack of frequency the puck reaches the net. I'd say its edler-esque in the frequency of blocked shots. Something to work on for him. The wrister from what i can see has a higher probability of making it through and is quite deceiving.

    Wow amazing!

Hes alot more mobile than I thought. I think we have something here.

  3. It's not about 2011. If the price is right, he's a heck of a shooter.

    Hamhuis - Bieksa

    Edler - Tanev

    Sbisa - Ehrhoff

It very much is. Fans who want to re-sign Ehrhoff are still trying to recapture that 2011 feeling. It didn't work for Darryl Sutter when he re-signed Jokinen and Tanguay.

I doubt JB is even considering him anyways. Our defense is crowded and Ehrhoff doesn't fit with his vision of "meat and potatoes style" type of player.

  4. The Bruins were horrible for years and San Jose isn't exactly full of young studs. To compete and rebuild at the same time requires amazing drafting, more importantly it requires having a deep prospect pool which we don't have atm. Another down season and good scouting/drafting and your plan may work.

I agree. Going into full suck mode would def give us more quality prospects but for now lets hope the kesler trade gets us the quailty were all looking for.

Like most of everyones comments I would've rather inquired about Hiller rather than Miller, a guy whose too used to losing in buffalo.

  5. My feeling is this team needs to rebuild, however JB and TL have said they want this team in the playoffs.

If we sign guys like Miller we're following in Calgary's footsteps imo. To naive to realize it's time to rebuild.

    Can't we do both?

Benning and Trevor's plan from what I look at it, is competing and adding youth at the same time. Ppl need to realize that teams can do both a rebuild while staying competitive. Look at the sharks or the bruins.

The Vancouver Canucks are reportedly set to name their 18th head coach in franchise history early next week, with multiple reports suggesting that it'll be 57-year-old Texas Stars head coach Willie Desjardins who succeeds John Tortorella behind the bench in Vancouver.

The Canucks and Desjardins still have a contract to hammer out and formalize and an official announcement to make, but it seems like we already know who Desjardins' assistant coaches will be next season.

When the Canucks fired John Tortorella and Tortorella's lieutenant Mike Sullivan in early May, they retained Glen Gulutzan - a coach who worked with Desjardins on Marc Crawford's coaching staff in Dallas.

So Gulutzan will likely be one of Desjardins' assistant coaches next season. The other assistant? It's expected to be Desjardins' current Texas colleague and ex-Canucks defenseman Doug Lidster, according to a report from Sportsnet's Dan Murphy.

Lidster coached with Desjardins with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL a decade ago, and has worked with Desjardins with the Texas Stars for the past couple of seasons. He played 666 games with Vancouver during his playing career, and is fourth among Canucks defenseman in points all-time.

So in less than 24 hours Desjardins has gonefrom being close to taking over the head coaching position with the Pittsburgh Penguins, to having essentially his whole staff probably in place in Vancouver. That's a quick turnaround, and one made more interesting by reports that one of the reasons Desjardins declined Pittsburgh's offer, was that he wouldn't have been authorized to select his own assistants.

  7. Just bought and used preworkout for the first time (C4).

Wow... At this rate I'll be able to do my personal records in about two weeks time.

Which preworkout do you guys use? And how are you guys liking them?

  8. Watch Benning trade down, get a 2015 draft pick 1st rounder from the Maple Leafs, and still get the 8th overall.

We still draft a stud player, and we win the draft lottery in 2015.

Now that would be an epic start for a GM.

    Peter Chiarelli?

  9. This is crazy. You must be his little sister or something.

I like Virtainen's game and another hometown boy loss would have ppl here going nuts. I'd take the risk only after Draistl's been taking.
