I’m not gonna lie. Vancouver born and raised, the rain is in my soul.

I’m not really gonna fully hate on the guy. Bruce is an interesting coach who’s done well.
What I will say is, I don’t believe he knows how to win/compete in today’s NHL. He’s got a lot of years behind him, but to keep looking to the alumni for answers, just isn’t gonna manifest a winner (although, neither will doing it with inexperienced youth). The game has made boundless annual changes in the last decade.
could we maybe get someone in the middle? I mean, come on.

never thought I’d say this….
but the Calgary game is great

I am the groundhog.
I poked my head out to see if this would be an exciting year to follow the team.
I have seen my shadow and it looks just like last year or darker… I’m going back in. See you in 6 weeks.

what worries me about science getting politicized like it has been over the last two years is, do governments stop or severely cut basic science funding? how far will the religious right wing take this stuff if they gain power in the US, e.g. ?
One take away is that the last two years has seen the largest global collaboration in history, quickest funding and fastest/best testing in history. That’s a lot of good.
Remember how hypocritical the religious right is. Trump is the perfect example. Morning prayers with the most aggressive evangelists, and yet he still was vaccinated and also received some of the first Covid treatments.
They are the most scared. They will always talk a mean conspiracy game, but will quietly fund anything of concern or threat to themselves.

That's a properly fitted N95 mask vs an improperly worn decorative cloth mask.
I still feel like the cloth masks do help somewhat. But you're probably both right. Masks were probably helpful to reduce some transmission. But also, people can get way too complacent wearing a cloth mask that doesnt work as well as they think it does.
You’re not wrong there
cloth masks are to the N95, what the sponge or the rhythm-method is to birth control.

for a while. Its not a good idea to give the impression that a mask will protect you all the time, because there are conditions where they don't.
Condoms are 98% effective. I’m pretty sure people are capable of accepting reality, and making it work.
Nobody ever said masks were a fail-safe, they were only ever a protective layer for crowded areas. Outrageously effective at reducing infection.
All of BC’s doctors saw and were exposed to Covid patients throughout the last few years. Vaccines, masks and PPE’s worked really well for them. That strong evidence in my book.

are we still an easy team to play against?
Two decades of helping other teams break slumps, and helping opposing players break milestones and records.

DIAL HUGHES ICETIME BACK FFS. He’s fvcking fatigued and getting worse with each passing game. He’s skating in quicksand. This isnt playoffs with 20 mins of OT, why is he playing 28 mins per game?!! Its not working and hes looking slower
Yup. Hughes is drastically overcast in his current role. Coaches should have him on a cap. 20-22 mins max. They will negatively effect his career arch at this rate.

I vouch for Nickelback's "Burn it to the Ground" as the Canucks goal song at RA.
It's about goddamn time to do just that to this godforsaken roster.
the roster is bad, but not Nickelsack bad

half this d wouldnt crack a good team on a consistent basis, they would be depth d men.
Myers is ok if you burry him in your bottom pairing. Mindless passes. 4 on 4 tonight he just dumped the puck out to center ice giving the Wild possession for free. provides zero offence.
Hughes needs a stable shutdown d man to play with and he needs to play a little less.
This is arguably the worst d core in the conference.
Doesnt absolve some of the forwards ...
OEL looked like an actual NHL D man, but the rest were all lack-lustre. Not enough.
Forwards showed they are young and fast enough to perform on the fast break, but that won’t win games.
we can’t even judge if Demko is performing, until the ‘Pylons on Ice’ show is over.

The defence is mediocre but not awful. They need work more together . But the big issue is lack of awareness and good checking by the forwards in their own end. The forwards don’t look to be puck hungry in their own zone, too soft in checking and too much gap.
Brother, watch that first Zucarello goal and tell me again that defence isn’t that awful.
cross ice pass directly in front of the goal… nobody there. Nobody.

From my experience, stay away from Telus. Shaw is way better.
I would second this.
I deal with Telus at work, and Shaw at home. Shaw residential service is far superior to Telus business service. That says everything.

I think the little insults are what stops people from staying open during respectful debate.
I dont think anyone has ever helped someone form a new opinion by insinuating their stupidity.
You are correct. My apologies. I will re-calibrate.
I get frustrated when people that don’t understand medicine preach as though they do. I would prefer to be part of the conversation, and that was not my best foot forward.
apologies @mdehaan

Even so, it may have been around but now it seems it is prevalent, where a decade ago it was not.
It has always been prevalent, I just provided you pre-Covid stats of it’s prevalence. It has always been the underlying cause of many different deaths.
Now it’s become table talk because people who dont understand what it is are using it as an anti-vax banner.

Yes, we do. Good point.
Had you heard of myocarditis before 2020? What about sudden adult death syndrome?
Myocarditis was discovered in the mid 1800’s . It’s directly linked to, and one of the main causes of SIDS (present in 17-20% of cases, pre-Covid)
Sudden Adult Death Syndrome is actually Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome for those that have any idea about what they are talking about, and it’s been widely studied since the 70’s. Most cardiac deaths are directly linked to arrhythmias precipitating cardiac arrest. These are most often caused by faulty electrical signalling to the heart.
let me know if I can clear up any other low hanging fruit for you.

If you ask Telus for a replacement, they’ll likely send one with a return slip for the current one.
in all honesty, I’ve been playing games with tech and heat as I have a small enclosure that houses modem, router and cable box. The modem and the cable box can both easily reach 90-95 degrees internally during operation. Ventilation and two tiny inline usb fans have solved all my problems.

A billion crabs missing!? This sounds like a new platform for the next US election’s Q resurgence
wont someone stop the evil crab eating cabal in the basement of the pizza shop?
all jokes, but this is terrifying. I don’t like crab myself, but I’m not shellfish.

It’s takes a lot to make me post a comment, but feel free to post one more, and reclaim your throne

I love a good underdog story...
and...Tanev and Marky!
This. Their handling of their two best players jumping ship is nothing short of a stunning achievement. What a recovery.
Hard to swallow as a Canuck fan, as all our previous Canucks are looking great over there.

Yes, that is park for manual. 100%
cop would be a guaranteed no-show. They float these tickets hoping you won’t dispute, he knows he’s wrong. He was probably looking for drunks at the drive through, and got bored.
