I, personally, don't see much difference between Jake's first year in the A, as compared to Gaunce and Shinkaruks. Their first year they didn't too much, because they were playing low in the lineup to learn the pro game, and then slowly progressed over the next year.
I would have preferred Jake start in the A this year, however it didn't happen. I understand he had a full year of pro with the team his first year, however i believe a full year in the AHL is much better for development than the NHL because in the NHL a coach has to put in the best lineup every night, and focus on their opponents and gameplans, where as a coach in the AHL (given the fact Utica is Aquillini owned) has more room to teach fundamentals of the pro game which many coaches don't have time to do in the NHL. I don't get why some people can't see that.
It took Baer 5 years as a pro to figure it out? Things take time, every player is different. People talk about Jake's development game-by-game as if one game is going to prove hes NHL ready (HE SCORED HES READY, next game he screws up and HES A BUST). Take it month-to-month if you have to, but it should be year-to-year. This isnt NHL17 guys. Have some go damn patience, holy $&!#. There is a reason you arn't an NHL scout or GM. Trust the system. Players fail all the time, which it appears people don't understand. Drafting is an incorrect science.
I don't know if this is all from newer Canucks fans, but i feel like if you have followed hockey for 10+ years you should know how development works. and hey maybe you just never liked the Jake pick and thats all well and good, however screaming bloody murder he isnt in the NHL at 20 just shows you have no idea what youre talking about.
Anyway i'm done rambling, not like i will change any minds anyway. Just my take. STOP looking for game-by-game development thats not how it works.

#Canucks: Injury to shoulder of Bo Horvat isn't as bad as first thought. There were no breaks, likely just a contusion.

I didnt want Ehlers... Drafting out of the Q for a team in our division... Does not bold well at all. Wanted someone in the top 5 to drop but after that didn't happen i was happy with Jake the Snake. He was so happy to be drafted by us and im sure he will show it come TC

6th, 24th and shinner for 1st seems like quite a bit as as much as i dont want to get rid of shinner it might just be worth it. Reinhart would be amazing to snag. Hopefully we can keep one of the 3 but either way i'm excited!!!

Honestly, think its a decent idea to have a vet alongside the lackinator (dont want to stunt his growth like Dubnyk by thrusting him into the starting role when hes not ready), but don't want to blow a ton of cap space on him. We'll see what happens!

As much as i like Giroux, as of now hes not making the team. Im sure he'll defs pick up his pace, but as of now i dont think he'd make it. I could see Jeff Carter slotting in because of Mike Richards. Then again there is a reason Yzerman is doing this not me ahahha

JP, your all about glitch goals man. You skate around in circles and when my players get tired of chasing you down you come up in front of the net and shoot it glove side. All of your goals are like that..... Ribero has like 17 points, Vermette has like 20= you cant score that many point without glitching. Just admit, then you tell us we cant play defence. Next time we play, ill make a video and SHOW YOU!
THANK YOU! I didnt want to be the one to call him out, but you hit the nail on the head. He's not the only one that does that. And he trys to teach me how to play d, you can only chase the player for so long before the slot opens up and you just roof it.

The Montreal GM does not currently have NHL14, he got GTA first. However, I have been assured by him that he will have the game by Friday at the latest.
Considering he is also a returning player from all of the previous NHL 13 leagues, I am going to allow him to keep Montreal, provided he gets the game by Friday.
^Unfortunately, that means you'll have to pick another team.

He is following Green's formula of learning the fundamentals of pro hockey, stats will look poor this year because of that. To even have the idea of a bust in the conversation at the age of 20 is astounding.
Let us wait till training camp to see how he has improved from the previous year. Do not look at stats until year 2 in the AHL. Green will give him more rope like he did with Gaunce and Shinkaruk.
Trust in the system and be patient. The bust conversation can be brought forward in a few years. 1.5 years of pro hockey under ones belt and already have people calling him a bust is incredibly bothersome and shows how little some people in this fan base know about hockey. (Not directing that at you, however i am sure you understand what i mean)
