  1. Amen-DOOOOOOOOLA... stay healthy please.

Glad they didn't re-sign Welker or sign Wallace (which I would have done). Although the Jets will likely blow chunks next year ... suck for Manziel!!

  2. Yeah but this years toques looked far better than anything that's come out the last few years

It was the first year New Era had the contract. They signed a 5 year deal with them that began last year.

They're usually really good with their products (see MLB), so I expect nice toques next year too.

  3. My friend works at Vancity Sports downtown, his boss said New Era isn't making anymore, it was a limited thing for this season.

Are you referring to toques only? Because New Era's contract with the NFL is five years.

  4. Not bothers as much as confuses. Pretty sad staying quiet for so many years just waiting for that one chance to trash talk a guy, especially a guy who's been more successful than you. Which brings up my example of Ovi and Crosby, Ovi (Suggs) staying quiet every year Crosby (Brady/Pats) got further in the playoffs than him and had more success, and then the one year where finally Ovi beats Crosby, he starts making fun of Crosby. Doesn't make sense does it?

There's trash talking where you pick out a players flaws and bring them to attention before playing a team which could have psychological effects on that player, and then there's stupidity ie. John Terry's racist remark.

I don't think Suggs is a good example of a person that "stays quiet" ... he's been pretty consistent with his trash talk.

  5. I find it funny that guys who have never won a ring trash talk more than guys who have won. Terrell Suggs posted a couple meme's making fun of the Pats for not making it to the Super Bowl this year. Where was he last year? How about in 07? How about 04? Or what about his rookie year in 03?

It's one thing for rookies or 2nd years (like Sherman) to talk, because they haven't had sufficient time to win a championship and who knows, they may end up winning a ring or multiple rings. It's another for a guy who's been in the league, what, 8 years, and hasn't won a ring to trash talk a team that's consistantly been better than his.

Hope he doesn't pour bleach on his child and beat his girlfriend and drag her alongside his car again if they lose <_< Is there anyone on that Ravens defense who hasn't committed domestic abuse?

I actually have less of a problem with Suggs talking trash than Sherman.

Suggs has proven to be one of the premier defenders in the league consistently. And the Ravens D is largely the reason they've experienced so much success. It's not his fault the offense wasn't able to win them games. Wasn't until this year that Flacco and the O really stepped up their game.

Sherman on the other hand has played 2 years and 2 playoff games, and in one of them he got completely burned for a TD by Roddy White.

I really don't have a problem with players talking trash. It's fun, adds excitement and helps to build rivalries making games more intense.

  6. And he hasn't been in the Super Bowl since his one ring. Sorry but almost all the teams in the NFL was part of spy gate, it's just the Pats got caught big time for it.

You consistently prove that you have no idea what you're talking about.

Peyton loss to the Saints 3 years ago.

  7. Same goes for the 07 Pats offense (avg 37pts/game) who were held to 14 by NYG. But like you and Champions said, there's no concrete evidence that opens your eyes and says "right here, this is where knowing the signals helped them."

I agree Champion. As someone who helps coach a JV team, seeing something while watching game film for a second time, that you might've missed the first one, makes you go, "woah, ok, we need to change this then to counter what they're going to do."

But as people have said over the years, everyone has a little extra film on their opponents. Like Suggs (I think) said before the AFCCG, I'm paraphrasing but it was along the lines of, "we'll be fine, we know what all his (brady) audibles mean, we'll be able to do adjust"

Haha, as I was typing it I knew you'd bring up 07'. And to the Patriots' credit, the years they won they actually had good defenses. We'll never know the extent to which spygate helped.

  8. Ps: Not going to get involved in the whole "haven't won since spygate" debate you guys have going on with Cody Markus Alexander, but just my 2 cents: As much as it is coincidental that we haven't won a bowl since 04, I highly doubt circumstances such as Brady driving down the field with a little over a minute left against the greatest show on turf and the panthers and getting AV in field goal range both times relied on videotape..that was all TB.

Against the Eagles and Panthers I thought the Patriots were the better team, but the Rams game is the one that I will forever question.

I don't remember who exactly it was, I think Torry Holt, but he said that it was almost as if the Patriots knew what they were doing every play. (This was a team that was putting up 35+ every game). He also mentioned that when they changed the gameplan was when they started having success, I think they got all their points in the second half, not sure though.

I don't know, I think the penalty they got was pretty weak and if it wasn't so early in Goddell's time as GM, they probably woulda got slapped harder.

But, it's sort of moot unless there is concrete evidence that comes out proving the only reason the Patriots won was because of spying on the opposing team, otherwise it's kinda pointless.

  9. lol not once have I mentioned about the game at all. I've been defending myself as a Pats fan and I only recently commented on the spygate joke. How is that a sore loser?

whatever. Have it your way. I can't get over something that I didn't watch so don't go claiming that I didn't accept the fact that we lost when I didn't even watch it and can't make any claims on why we lost.

Probably cause you didn't watch it. Just sayin'

  10. Is that all you have to say? I don't have to be constantly reminded that we haven't won a Super Bowl since spy gate. I already know that. No need to be captain obvious. Jealous fans running out of things to say so they keep repeating the same statement since 2007.

How is someone repeating "the Patriots haven't won anything since 2007" any different than someone saying "Patriots have been to 5 Superbowls and 7 Championship games in 12 years"

  11. Messed up. I actually predicted the 49ers over the Ravens in the Supr Bowl at the start of the season. Also, didn't bet on it. Dooooouche.

    I had 49ers - Texans. I've found whenever I DO bet, I end up losing. Whenever I don't, I'm cash money.

  12. That's fine for you. I rarely get to go to Canucks games, so I wouldn't skip it for something I am watching on TV already. Even if the Rams were in the NFC Champ game. Does that make me less of a fan?

Maybe the guy doesn't have PVR. The fact that you are making me defend a Patriots fan makes me like you a little less, to be honest.

LOL. I don't know, it's tough for me to digress on this, because I feel like any Championship game takes precedence. I guess it comes down to what/who you value more?

But I don't decide who is and isn't a fan.

  13. I was totally with you until you started ragging on him for missing the game for a LIVE Canucks game. I woulda gone too. PVR exists for a reason. You have no right to say what his priorities should be.

Are you even a Canucks fan?

    -----------------------------------------------

Having said that, still hate the Pats and think most of their fans are unbearable.

Yup! Definitely a Canucks fan. I would have sold the tickets, PVRed the Nucks game and watched the Championship Game live.

I give favor to playoff games over regular season. Always.

Edit: Also, he obviously didn't PVR the game given that he saw the "stats" which again, calls into question how big a fan he really is. Which is why I hate Patriots fans so much, since half of them really aren't fans.

  14. Seriously? You've got nothing to do except rag on one football fan for missing a conference game because he bought tickets to a game locally? And my friend bought the poweplay pak and I was going with him. Honestly, you're going to rag on someone for missing a game. Get over yourself

Oh, I'm totally over myself. Seriously, I am.

  15. I spent good money to watch hockey. I'm not going to show up an hour late and miss the 1st period of action. Your reasons are unjustifiable when it comes to reasons why people miss games.

Umm, you could easily sell the tickets? It's a pretty big game to miss. I'd understand a week 2 or 3 game. But the AFC Championship game? Come on dude.

  16. How does that sum up being a Patriots fan? I watch all Pats games whenever I can. I was heading to the Canucks game tonight so I couldn't watch it.

I'm sure you miss some Jets games or Canucks games and you still call yourself a fan. You don't HAVE to watch every single game to be called "a fan".

Missing a game here or there is not a HUGE deal, even though there are only 16 regular season and they're usually on Sundays. But missing the second biggest game of the season is a pretty big deal, especially if you're missing it to go watch an early regular season hockey game.

  17. I didn't watch the game but the score says it all. I can talk all I want about how great the Patriots are because it's a given fact. Sorry if I'm giving off the wrong vibe but honestly, the stats don't lie. I only watched the 1st Quarter but after that, it seemed like we were being handed to by the Ravens

I don't wonder why people hate us. I wonder why people love the fact that we lose when their team won a game only a couple weeks back.

Pretty much sums up Patriots fan ... how can you not watch the game and call yourself a fan?

The fact is the Patriots haven't won a Superbowl since 2005.

  18. If the Patriots ever want to win another SB in the near future they need to go all in next year.

Sign a legit WR. Bowe, Wallace, and Jennings are all free agents.

Sign a coupe of pass rushers. Avril and Umenyiora?

They need an all-star corner too.

However, given Bellichick's track record. He won't go out and spend the big bucks and the Patriots will have the same results.

  19. When I meant dominating, I meant by overall record and appearances in the playoffs. Tell me, how many championship appearances do the Ravens and Giants have since 2001? Oh that's right, five. Combined. Pats have played in 7.

People don't get awards for playing in championship games, Rex has 2 in 4 years with Sanchez. Means nothing unless you win the SB.
