5 Players Who Will Breakout Next Season (If There Is One)
Anders Lindback- Tampa Bay Lightning
Lindback was traded to Tampa where he will become their starter. I'm expecting a huge year from Lindback, and Tampa will he will have one or they can say goodbye to the playoffs.
Oliver Ekman Larson- Phoenix Coyotes
Ekman Larson is already a stud at the age of 21. Playing with Keith Yandle will help his production and on a weak offensive team like Phoenix he is bound to get lots of ice time and PP time.
Jamie Benn- Dallas Stars
Benn was a first time all-star last year and was the leagues most accurate shooter at the skills competition while playing mostly on the 2nd line. With Ribeiro gone to Washington Benn will get a chance on the 1st line and will play with much more quality linemates such as Loui Eriksson and the newly signed Ray Whitney. Plus with Aaron Rome playing D his +/- will be inflated.
Cory Schneider- Vancouver Canucks
Schneider stole the starting role from Roberto Luongo last year with his brilliance in the playoffs, wich shows that he can play under the microscope we call the Canucks fan base. He has played in high pressure games (Chicago, Boston, etc.) while posting numbers in the top 5 in SV% and GAA. Not to mention his numbers might improve from improved defence.
Colin Wilson- Nashville Predators
Wilson will get improved minutes and PP time from solid playoffs. The young forward along with Gabriel Bourque and Craig Smith will be huge parts of the Predators offence. The Preds need Wilson to step up if they want to contend for the playoffs.
