  1. I'm still confused with Vasily Podkolzin's KHL contract. All we heard when he was drafted by Vancouver in 2019 was that he was going to honor the last 2 seasons of his KHL contract. However, the 2018-2019 season wasn't over yet at that time, and we know that he was already signed by the KHL when Vancouver selected him. Are they counting the 2018-2019 season as year-1 of Podkolzin's KHL contract? If so that would mean that he would be ready to suit up in Vancouver at the beginning of the 2020-2021 season. So when, exactly, does Podkolzin's KHL contract expire?
  2. I think in recent months Elias Pettersson has shown huge potential as a future Vancouver Canuck. His stats in the SHL are incredible, and all of that should raise a lot of interest both with the fans and in the Canucks upper office. However, just out of curiosity, how sure are the Canucks that Pettersson will actually sign with them? I'm hoping that he doesn't pull a Jimmy Vesey on the Canucks, stay in Sweden, and wait for his contract offer here to expire...before becoming a free agent. How long does Vancouver have before Pettersson will actually become a free agent in the NHL if he chooses not to sign with the Canucks?
  3. I thought that Kesler gave that list at the trade deadline last March? Not sure if he is still willing to try and get away from Tortorella though :-). My biggest dream is for the Canucks to trade the Sedins while they still have value. I know that many in Canuckville think that they are untouchable, but I look at this differently. My goal is for Vancouver to win a cup, and they have not been able to do that with the Sedins. I would probably pass-out on draft day if I hear that Vancouver has traded the Sedins to the Islanders for John Tavares and a first round pick....but after I "come-to" I would also be uncorking the champagne :-). While we're on the subject, we know that Florida is also open to trading for their first round pick. We also know that they are looking for defencemen -- hint, hint ;-). And we know that Edler and Beiksa have been mentioned in trade talks for months now. So why not sweeten the pot, and try to trade Edler, Bieksa plus perhaps Burrows for their first round pick and Jonathan Huberdeau? None of this might ever happen...but would it not be wise to at least ask? :-). The Canucks' organization has mentioned on more than one occasion that they will become younger and tougher...so that's my plan. Whether these trades would happen or not is questionable...but you have to admit that Vancouver season tickets would probably sell-out in a day if Vancouver suddenly acquired Tavares, Huberdeau, and 3 first round draft picks in the top 6 overall...not to mention $20-million free in cap space :-). And even if Vancouver does become top-heavy with centres...that could just mean more trades and more building too.
