  1. I know I sound like Apollo or Alf. But the build is irrelevant. He has proven that if you watched any of the Lakers playoff games last year. Some players ya you temper things a bit. After what this kid did in a very very good league. I pretty much like most of the sports media. have him as the front-runner for the Calder. Every time he bumped up a tier or last years playoffs. It would take him a few games to adjust then he would start to dominate. Our fan base has been let down so many times were almost gunshy. Well, we got a guy that should have gone 1st overall. He has all the tools to compete with the upper-class players. I would not be surprised if he starts the season at center and puts up 80-90 points. I watched him live in 3 playoff games in the finals. We have a true superstar it's that simple. You think the Dahlen hype was crazy over here? EP40 is treated like a freaking God in Sweden. When you get crowned the next Froppa that is some serious $&!#e over there. He shut down Twitter once. and the net crashed once because of him.
  2. I see a lot of people with shaller in the lineup. I heard he is out till at least Nov. I think all the people who have EP penciled in as a winger are in for a surprise. In his draft year he dominated at C. and last year he was a 19-year-old on a stacked Vaxjo team full of veteran centers. They put him at wing as he was the most versatile, and he was a rook. Both his last two coaches have said he will have no issues playing center. He has extremely powerful wrists and arms in general. To be his size and be able to unleash the one-timers he does, plus the fact he tied for the hardest shot in the league. I don't see an issue with his ability to win draws. He has incredible Hockey Iq. I think by end of camp he is our #2. The lineups are going to be such a headache for JB. If the young guys outperform the vets he has always stayed true to his word and played them. Problem with that is it would make more sense to play guys like gags Louie Sutter in top 5 roles and hope they put up good numbers, making them more appealing to trade. Especially Louie and Sutter. If they are both having really good seasons Maybe if we retain on Louie we could possibly move him. Same with Sutter if someones willing to cough up a 1st then maybe JB considers moving them. Gags I think is gone no matter what. Just thought if he is having a good season, we might be able to get more than a 4th or 5th. Sven two I dont see him here long-term. I think based on his last 2 seasons. He can be a 20- goal 20-40 assist guy Basically Nylander numbers.for half the price. I think as we move out vets call up the young kids. At least that way maybe we can unload some contracts we don't need going forward. Now like I said if Dahlin Gaudette, Lind ETC are just phenomenal. I won't envy poor JB
  3. I like you if i remember correctly was huge on Bovqist. I still am. Funny thing I think him and Hughes will end up being the 2 most exciting D,s in the draft. I was hop[ing for Hughes. Just never imagined he would fall to us. If he gets a little bigger and starts to win more board battles Hughes is going to be a D that kids growing up model their game after. The way he can angle a player off and strip the puck is amazing. Bovqist im not sure how he will end up on D> He is for sure an adventure. One scout wrote in the Hockey news before the draft that if s team gets all of Adam to watch out. But he isn't sure if that will ever happen. I would have been fine with Smith over Dobson or especially Bouchard. We need that jump out of your seat type of guy. Who we def got in Q. Anyone who thinks poorly of Adam is like Rob_Zepp said is a plastic fan.
  4. Agreed. I would say Bo already did that. Brock will never forget what JB did for his family by burning a year of his ELC. FOR the chance to make 93 grand and let his poor Mom take of her dying Husband instead of working 2 jobs. JB truly is all class. Even when he trades players. He tries his best to send them to places they want to go. It also helps that every player he has drafted. Seems to be just bursting with class. And I love the fact that he was the first gm to really jump head first into drafting College players. Of course, they will sign here. They all have friends or kids that played in the same systems. Maybe it's just me. But our prospects all seem to want to be here. Maybe but it seems like all of our prospects like most of us. See something special being built here and may take a bit of a discount to keep this core together.
  5. I read on TSN about 6 months ago Before the most recent signings. That the Nucks had with the cap expected to go up again next year close to 40 mill. I never checked cap friendly myself, but before the signings of Jake Beagle Sven etc. Plus quite a few vets come off the books it sounded high but not terribly high, considering most of our players will be on ELC,s. Regardless I think yet another think JB doesn't get enough credit for is how well compared to a team like the leafs Wings-Hawks Jets etc is how he has managed the cap since the contracts of the old core have come off the books. People call him dim Jim. So disrespectful for one and two totally false. Love to live in a world where someone is made fun of because they are socially awkward. Could be anxiety a bit of a speech impediment? Who knows But to make fun of that is no different than making fun of someone with downs..One of the reasons I closed my old account. Quim got me back tho lol. Sorry got sidetracked I apologize. I think JB has put us in a great spot cap wise for the next 5 years at least. Keeping in mind The NHL is finally getting some traction in the states. I think a lot of that is due to all the negativity surrounding the NFL. Who are seeing record drops in attendance and viewership? The Bo contract is looking really good right now, and if he can lock up Brock for 8 years at 8.5 it may look high now but Brock is one of the players I would have no doubt gambling on. Once all the rest of our Rooks are due for raises were in good shape unlike the Jets since it hit them all at once. Our contracts seem to be a little more staggard I also think by March Edler, Tanev, Sutter 50% retained are all traded at the tdl for 1sts. Tanev if healthy is a no-brainer. Edler is exactly the kind of D you need for a long playoff run. I think he would be worth more with possibly an extension in place. Sutter again if healthy is someone i would love to have on my playoff tea. So underrated here. Throw in Nilsson Zotto. Gags, and we gotta be in the top 5 going forward with the cap. JB has done a good job in that regard. Again sorry for the long-winded version. been a year away. and so much I want to say.
  6. Yup Once it was Detroit's pick I said a prayer that Hughes would fall to us. I never even considered him falling out of the top 4
  7. Getting to watch Housley and Selanne live was something I wish I got to see in my teens;. Not when I was 8 years old. I just remember my dad who grew up in Flin Flon and hated anyone non-Canadian. Jumping out of his seat when those two would work their magic Long live the Flin Flon Bombers. LOL.
  8. Another very well respected poster on here. Said Dahlin's skating is a gear below Quinns. There is a prospect vid on q. The title is meet the fastest player in the 2018 draft.
  9. I am not in the habit of cutting one down. But I saw first hand how lazy this guy is didn't mean to offend anyone.
  10. Actually was on here for 4 years. took down my account last year due to the fact there was just too many trolls. I watched him live many times. From what I have read. I'm not the first person to point out his flaws. Everyone will have different views on prospects. I was just stating mine. Cheers.
  11. my point was. anyone playing 30 minutes of easy ice time where it is mostly spent floating while having the majority of the plays goes through him is going to rack up the points. I watched at least 15 games of his live. The amount of time he got caught cheating and not backchecking was pretty bad. I just saw to much cherry picking from him. But hey we all have our own views. The one thing I disagree on. was he was not conserving energy. The guy barely moved.
  12. Was never a fan of Bouchard. A guy that plays almost 30 minutes a game,. mostly in the ozone. Has most plays drawn up for him is going to get his points. He is slow. Has very bad edgework and is lazy. I watched many of his games and prayed we would not draft him. I will not get involved in the Dhalin comparisons, way to soon. One thing I will say is Quinn's D tends to get overanalyzed due to his amazing offensive skills. Not saying he is near Dahlin in that regard, but if he grows an inch or two, all of a sudden he starts to win more board battles. combine that with the way he is able to cut off defenders and steal the puck. It might bring things a little more closer.
