  1. You do you fam,

The moves may sound upsetting initially, but in reality, it makes sense if we're building around Petey + Hughes + Demko to be a competitive team within their window. Rebuilding would've meant we're trading EVERYONE. But I'm hoping we can recoup a 2nd round pick for this draft and dump Myers. At this point, I'm curious about what their next moves are considering we're loaded with wingers and lack center depth.

His size, strength and body positioning is great, he usually skates away with the puck, or delivers a punishing hit.

    A line of:

    Hoglander - Horvat - Podkolzin

could be pretty tough to play against. I hope they move Pearson down to the 3rd line.

Don't think he's bumping Garland off that 2nd line.

  3. Honestly speaking we actually might be good here.

We don't get dead weight contracts, gives us a good top 4 d so we're not relying on Hughes, Rathbone and Juolevi on the left side which is PAPER THIN.

Garland looks to be a defensively sound person who can chip in the odd goal every now and then.

Question is who's going on our left side? We're still logjammed unless he decides to move either Rathbone or Juolevi??

  4. Chinatown.

There's a market behind this Chinese BBQ place on Keefer/Gore. They usually have the exotic south asian fruits. They have rambutans, longans (when in season), lychee, thai bananas, asian pears, snake fruit, and other interesting fruits.

T&T usually does but it's expensive.

Also HMart might carry it too.

Chong Lee on 47th And Victoria should have those also.

    88 Supermarket as well.

Podz will never bring flash but simply has a pro based game where he just works hard.

Certain individuals getting too spoiled with elite talent with Petey and Huggy who have tons of flash and expect all prospects to replicate the same.  Podkolzin is a different breed. Petey and Hughes may bring the excitment and points, but you need a mix of other players where they bring the heart and increase the intensity/work ethic. Podkolzin helps you win games in other ways besides points.

He's going to be our Rodman to the Mj (Petey)

  6. I rather have Pearson over Sven.

Pearson is already a player who can chip in 40 points for the team, works well either in the 2nd line or 3rd line. He is expensive yes but he's only got one year left in his current deal and would probably look for some stability due to his young family. I can see Canucks probably giving him a 3 year deal around the $3 million range to stay in Vancouver. He's already got good chemistry with Bo on the 2nd line with him and with Toff potentially joining us long term the team chemistry is just too good to mess up honestly.

Can also play tougher minutes to shelter the youth, has cup experience, always there in those crucial moments.

Didn’t he go back to Russia for more money???

No, he signed a lesser contract I believe.

    Quoted from an article

"Kovalchuk’s four-year agreement with SKA St. Petersburg was reportedly worth $4.4 million per season, or a total of $17.6 million over the life of the contract.

His KHL salary was less than he would have earned annually if he had remained with the Devils. But he ended up leaving even more money on the table than that in those four years.

The Devils agreement would've paid Kovalchuk $11.3 million in both 2013-14 and 2014-15, $11.6 million in 2015-16 and $11.8 million in 2016-17, for a total of $46 million. Players in the NHL are subject to a variety of taxes and fees, including state and federal income taxes, a “jock” tax, agent fees and the escrow agreement. New Jersey, at the time of Kovalchuk's departure, had an income tax rate (combined state and federal) of about 49%. NHL players are also subject to a "jock" tax, where local jurisdictions impose taxes on the income generated by away games. Assuming that Kovalchuk would have been subject to a total tax rate of about 53%, he still would have made"

Hall on a line with Horvat and Pearson for the playoffs would be monstrous but I doubt JB is going to go for it. We'd probably have to give up Virtanen + defensive prospect and Hall is far too over-rated considering his inconsistencies.

I do see him going to Edmonton sadly or Arizona which will make the playoff hunt a bit harder for us.

Edmonton has no capspace to sign Hall

  9. Definitely a change for Lind this season stepping it up this year. He's definitely got that gear to kick it up a notch every single second season he's been with professionally since the WHL.

  10. Pettersson would probably hover around the 80-90 pt mark
    Boeser - 70

    Ferland - 45 - 50

    Miller - 45

    Horvat - 65 with 53% Faceoff wins

    Pearson - 40 points 20/20 guy

Hughes could be the main thing we needed on our blueline so I can see him putting up at least 30 points

    Edler - 40 points

Myers - 25 *Getting used to our system*

    Tanev - 15
