  1. Energy sector down 3.5% on the TSX
  2. The OP brings up something a lot of people here have already been talking about. We need to let this series play out. If we only manage one or so wins then it's hard not to infer that this group are not play-off performers.
  3. Just gotta win tonight!
  4. K lol this is quite an exaggeration, I go to all the Canucks games at the dome and realistically it's more like 10-15% Canucks fans. Maybe it gets as high as 20% but that's still one in five fans which is huge for an away crowd. But definitely enough fans show up to make a significant amount of noise. I'm curious to see how many Canucks fans make it to the game on Sunday. This city is already absolutely buzzing and tickets are $300 for what the Dome calls Press Level seats. These are far worse than any seat at Rogers. I'm thinking far less Canucks fans then normal just because of the price and hype. Flames fans don't mind spending the money because they are play-off starved. Something I can guarantee you though is the Saddledome will be much louder. I haven't been to a play-off game in Van since game 2 of the 2011 Hawks series, but I went to the LA game in Calgary last Thursday and I've never seen anything like it. Calgary has a very intimidating crowd. It's going to be a wild ride on Sunday.
  5. That's actually a really good point.
  6. I haven't been through all the threads, so maybe this has been brought up already. One thing I would give the Flames credit for is that their stadium crowd is super intimidating. I was at the L.A. game and I have never heard such a loud hockey stadium. And that includes play-off games I've been to in Van (granted only first round games). The crowd, all the bleeping RED, the horns, the flames that come out of the jumbotron, even the songs they use, all make for a seriously intimidating crowd. I am going to games 3 and 4, so I am excited to see what those crowds will be like. Glad we got home ice, let's win our two at home and take the will for them to win away! (except this flames team never ever gives up). If we can't get it done at home we are in serious trouble! Gosh, sorry for being so negative, I am just such a mixture of pumped and nervous right now. GO NUCKS!!
  7. I've watched a lot of Flames games this year, been to about 15 games. I can tell you that Monahan is the real deal, a true beauty. He is a game changer. See the goal against the Coyotes last week. Gaudreau is not Physical, but the guy rarely seems to get hit. His hands are lightning fast and he is lethal. Hudler has quietly been a deadly force. Probably the best value contract in the NHL this year. Say what you want about that line being too inexperienced but they got the job done during the season when no one thought they would and they'll be looking to get the job done again. Don't be surprised if they do. The thing about the Flames, is that all season long they were supposed to fail. But the Flames truly have the will to win and having seen them play quite a bit this season I'd be worried about them as a team.
  8. I kind of can't tell if you are trolling, or serious. Hopefully not the latter. I tend to like your posts, but this thread is ridiculous (even if there is a degree to which the league may favour some teams). Love this quote on conspiracies btw... "The main thing that I learned about conspiracy theory is that conspiracy theorists actually believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is chaotic. The truth is, that it is not the Jewish banking conspiracy or the grey aliens or the 12 foot reptiloids from another dimension that are in control. The truth is more frightening, nobody is in control. The world is rudderless." - Alan Moore
  9. Bwaaaa! I always thought this little B*st*rd was a gopher with his mouth wide open winging his head round and round. Pretty much going "Ooooooooooh!!!" You ruined it. Avalanch: Why is it a parrot and not a gopher?
