i think that burrows need to stay with the sedins because he's the only one on that line that is responsible defensively...booth is ok defensively, but he's not that great in his own end which is a good reason to keep him with kesler...not to mention that kes and booth are both really, really fast and not many teams can match their speed so to have both of them on the same line is a great asset to us...and, kes and booth both play a very similiar game in that they drive to the net and they are both big bodies...get them and higgins going and we have a solid second line...i liked lapierre up with the sedins because he is a big, physical guy and he can score....but, he likes to play on the fourth line where he can just hit everything that moves which is a good place for him also...sounds like we need a big top six forward!!!! let's see it mg

Im no Kesler fan, but he has all the best attributes of both Booth and Burr it seems. Size, speed, checking, good shot ect.

Teams already aim to stop the twins, so.................Stack er up!!

Sedin-Sedin-Kes!!

we are already in need of a centre, now we will just need a legit one to play at #2.

maybe Higgy can be a temporary fill?

Booth-Higgy-Burr

Raymond-Lapp-Hansen

Weise-Manny-Kassian

doesn't seem so bad, the only one outta place i think is Higgins on the second, but he has shown promise and could do well there.

Burrows needs to stop getting involved in the Sedin's cycle, and go back to his old style of digging up the puck with aggressive forechecking and then getting in front of the net. If he's not big enough to consistantly do that, then he should be moved down the roster a little bit. Burrows is a great player in his own right, he'll excel anywhere on the team. For any of you guys who think otherwise, he got something like 3 goals in 5 games playing for Team Canada on their third or fourth line.

Show me the stats where Booth scored more than a goal in 10+ games playing with the Sedins. Show me them, right now. I know he didn't get a single goal playing with them in the Playoffs, don't really remember them playing together in the regular season.

It's so easy to go into a random thread nowadays and find another one of your clueless posts.

EDIT: Anaheim won the President's last year, right?

If we signed a right winger to play with the sedins id leave booth at 2nd line left wing (his normal position) and move burrows to 3rd line left wing, his natural position, and tbh the shutdown nature of our third line would work well with burrows there, but that leaves higgins the odd man out since he cant play right wing centre or 2nd or 4th lines. We could definitely use a positional shakeup to bring more balance.

I still say split the twins 5 on 5 and let them play together on the PP.. If the other team ices the puck and their defense is tired, or if there is an favorable match up for us, throw them both on together 5 on 5... But other than that, I'd say let them get used to playing alone... I think it will only make them both get better... Many people (including the twins themselves) think that they can play without each other and carry a line. So why not let them?

Teams are getting too used to stopping the Sedins.. Also, it cant hurt to have the option to split them up in the playoffs if the opposing team has found a way to shut them down... If they can play, and play well, on separate lines, how the hell do you stop that? Sure, the first line will take a hit, but we wont have a second line anymore, we'll have two first lines. We all know the second line is missing an elite playmaker, so why not use Daniel? It would only serve to make him a better passer than he already is, and I am all for that. We saw Henrik without his brother, and he ended up shooting the puck more and putting it in the net. I'm all for that too. Why not have them strengthen those aspects of their game. It couldn't hurt come playoff time.

Also, it'd be harder to push the twins around having two people that can push back surrounding them... Besides, if this doesn't work out after 10 games, then switch back... But even if this doesn't work out, I doubt it will make us lose many games anyways... Even split up and not producing as expected, I doubt we would drop below 0.600 hockey... If things go well, then stick with it and enjoy the benefits of having two lines with a Sedin on each of them..

Booth (Power Forward) - Henrik (Elite Play maker)- Burrows (Defensive Specialist / Sniper)

Daniel (Elite Playmaker / Sniper) - Kesler (Defensive Specialist / Power Forward) - Whoever meshes with the other two

However, there are going to be the people who are afraid of change, but the reality is, change is necessary to stay ahead of the curve. This is a game of evolution, and the teams that stay put, will ultimately be surpassed by the competition.

I would like to see them split up in the season to see how it works. Definitely harder to target the twins when seperated and makes room for 2 bodyguards vs 1. Problem is we would probably have to wait until Kes comes back or else.....

Booth-Hank-Burr

Dank-Higgins-Raymond

Kassian-Lapps-Hansen

Weise-Manny-Volpatti

LOL such a patch job, but I bet we still own our division with this lineup.
