  1. Yes. fully vaccinated with Astra Zeneca, and I waited the full recommended waiting time to get the second dose - 12 weeks, to get the maximum effect. I cant believe how many stupid people there are around who are anti-vaxxers and so stubbornly refuse to get it. They are not only putting themselves at risk but others too. As if we aren't having enough trouble already dealing with this bloody pandemic and all the variants coming out left and right and then we have all these idiots exacerbating the situation too.

Why? Should he say "I'm fine with signing with Vancouver just so that I can walk the Seawall and drink a $15 coffee and drive Audis"? The team should be a competitive one built for the playoffs. There's really no excuse not to be at this point.

Glad that Pettersson is coming out and saying that. I'm pretty sure his teammates want the same thing, and if they don't, they should go play in Utica.

What do you want to hear from one of your best number one draft picks, who you're hoping will become a core franchise player moving forward- I like it here and I want to win it with this team, or I will stay here only if the team is winning? Call me crazy but the first type of attitude sounds preferable to me.

Thing is. Players don't care about improving at the draft and making significant progress in their rebuild. They just want to win. So that part of the comment doesn't bother me as much. What bothered more was when he said "I don't know" - surely he knew how that would have been dissected in this market. On the other hand, I think based off of last off-season when Benning said he "ran out of time" (this is &^@#ing embarassing. Who in their profession would retain their job still if they gave this as an excuse that they couldn't do what they were supposed to do?).

Benning has had a tumultous time as GM. I think Pettersson sees that, and he is trying to hold this current management team accountable. I see him saying "Don't &^@#ing waste my career and time. Get serious about winning or I'm out"

I can see a three year extension, with that last year trying to extend Petey to a 7-8 year contract. Would bring him to his early thirties at that point. But I'm now a little anxious about whether he will even be here after his next contract is up. If he signs for 4 years, that spells trouble for the Canucks. Leads him straight into UFA.

Sure everyone wants to win, but do they all have attitudes on a level like that, where its like I'll stay here only on the condition that we're winning and making deep runs in the play-offs every year. That's a bit excessive.

  4. To be honest I don't really like the sound of that comment. It almost sounds like making an ultimatum that the Canucks need to be consistently contending and making deep runs year after year if they want to keep him. Its sounds a bit selfish. Players should show some loyalty and dedication to the teams that draft and develop them, and to the fans that support them and they should believe in their team and like the team they are playing for, even when the going gets tough. The Sedins were like that. They wanted to win it here with Vancouver, not just with any team. That's the kind of character I respect and like to see. Vancouver just had a disastrous season quite understandably, due in large part to the covid outbreak that infected nearly the entire team. Its not a season to gauge or judge the team by. The Canucks are a talented young team that have vastly improved at the draft and have made significant progress in their rebuild and in becoming competitive. So those "questioning the future" kind of feelings seem a bit unreasonable to me at this point.

  5. He has no one to blame but himself. He has been given every opportunity imaginable. He was brought in to play with Sedins, which he did for a lengthy time, but he didn't produce. They tried him with other line mates when that didn't work and he still sucked, and he still sucks after 3 years. Obviously any coach is going to get fed up with this after a while. I don't put any of this on Green. Eriksson should hold himself more accountable and not make it sound like his failure is due to the coach not trusting him or putting him the right role or not giving enough ice time. I want this guy gone big time. I hope a trade is coming soon.

  6. Horvat did very well in his fight with Nurse. I'd give Horvat an edge in that one. Proud of him and the terrific season he's had, hitting the 20 goal mark and making great strides in his development and taking on a leadership role as well. Unquestionable MVP this season. Congratulations Bo.
