Demko was spectacular tonight for the Comets - stopped 40 of 42 and picked up a great assist on the Comets' first goal with a stretch pass to Goldobin while the Crunch were on a change. Really kept the team in the third when Syracuse piled up 20 shots on goal. One of his many stops in the third, right after the Crunch had scored to bring it to 4-2:

He played fantastic. Right now he’s on top of his game. Should have been 1st star tonight and also on Wednesday night.

That's probably one of the best periods of hockey I've ever seen.

Should show people who don't like the sport that period and they would love it.

It was good, but the first 5 minutes were brutal. Must have been 15 stoppages in 3:00 of play

I'm not trying to be negative here but Benning got very lucky with the Demko pick as Calgary made the crazy pick taking McDonald the goalie from the Q. Who may or may not be good but doesn't seem to be in the same league as Demko. For all the good Calgary have done at the deadline today I really hope that pick comes back to haunt them for the next twenty years or so

Same here. I hope it's just like the Trevor Kidd/ Martin Broudeur screw up the Lames made 20 years ago.

I don't want to talk about this guy, like at all

All the frigging fun we made of Calgary for drafting Poiriere or howveer you spell it and passing over hometown boy Hunter and THIS happens?

Another center, another Linden frigging Vey?

I am making a serious knee jerk response here admittedly but what the shart farking hell is this crap?

I hope Shinkaruk Monahan and Gaudreau torch this team for the next decade every single game that we play.  Canucks fan for life or not this trade makes the Keenan years and the Messier signing look intelligent.

We traded our best offensive prospect for...another center, with marginal upside and the same statlines and rough size/grit as Linden frigging Vey.  And for those touting his AHL numbers, might I remind you that Vey is/was a ppg player in the AHL as was Clendenning.

Where are they now?  One is a scapegoat and one is not even on the team anymore.

    Think about it

Please get your facts straight. Clendenning is no where NEAR close to a point per game in the A. He probably isn't even .50 per game. Total over reaction dude

  5. Just got back from the Comets game and watched Higgins a lot. I kept saying to my buddy that I don't think he will be down here for long. I can see a playoff team trading for him for depth. He looked really good, has great speed and hands (the shorthanded goal was very nice) and is just an all around solid player. I knows it's the A, but a playoff team that thinks it can go deep would be wise to spend a 6 or 7th rounder on him.

  6. There is some chatter locally that he's not injured, but Green has benched him.  I heard Green was yelling at him on the bench in the Bridgeport game. Not sure what and who to believe at this point. Will keep you updated if I hear anything more

  7. I keep seeing posts about how Gaunce needs to work on his skating. As a season ticket holder of the comets, having seen him play live about 20 games, I disagree. The last 5-7 games I've seen firsthand, and even commented to my buddy how fast he looked. Also, the way he is starting to use his big frame, with the improved skating has been very noticeable.

Right now, he is way ahead of Shinkaruk in terms of development. And it's not like Guance is playing with superstars. He had Zalewski, who is also a rookie and Carter Bankes. Their line has been the best line over the last 7-10 games.

He had been very fun to watch this year. I don't ever remember getting upset with him for a bad play, like I do with Jensen, Hunter and Griener.

  8. Nucks looking good tonight. I know NYI are not very good, but they are dominating a weaker opponent, which they should be doing. I don't get to see them play much, but since vs a NY team they are on.

Don't know why fans are so negative about the team. They got off to s great start this year, just too many injuries. I hope they don't dismantle the core of the team. They can try to retool with free agent signings and developing their youth. There are 3 ex comets playing tonight, and all are playing well.
