  1. false , 5th overall is still possible with Calgary winning tonight. Although very unlikely, as we would have to go pointless. Calgary would also have to win out their last two(one against us), Winnipeg would have to win their last game and Carolina would need a win in one of their final three.

calgary can't catch us, if we lose out and they win their remaining games we'll be tied in points and ROW but we hold the 3rd tiebreaker which is points earned between the two teams. we've won every game against them

  2. Hmm....Trevor takes over as President.

16 games to win the cup.

    2016 coming up.

    Trevor wore #16.

    Fox scored 64 goals. 16 x4 = 64.

    IT'S A SIGN!!!!!!!

Millionaires won the cup in 1915 and we had the heritage classic 1 year before the 100 year anniversary

    15 + 1 = 16

    our top 3 players in points have 48 goals, Kesler(24), Daniel(14), Henrik(10)

    24 + 14 + 10 = 48

    48/3 = 16

if Burrows gets 2 more points we'll have 16 players with at least 16 points.

    clearly all a sign ;)

  3. Point was - we were not a dominate force.

IMHO, we were a bit over rated, if not for Luongo, we would have been swept in the finals like the Islanders did to us the first time.

Yes, we had injuries - but lacked depth...

we were, except it was only for that one season. we weren't an "elite" team for 4 or 5 straight seasons like people think we were

  4. Linden will be here with the team now until he decides to retire.

Not saying he won't make mistakes as that is normal occurrence in business and in sports, but he will eat, sleep and if necessary, bleed for this team while he is here. Same as he did on the ice!!

Can't wait to see how he restructures the whole organization!

if things don't improve then no he won't, doesn't matter if he's Trevor Linden he's not immune to being fired the same as anyone else would be

  5. Ottawa just won and Nashville is currently tied. This is promising for our pick

yep, currently sitting at 8th overall pick position :emot-parrot:

absolute best we can do is 6th overall if Winnipeg and Carolina pass us

Calgary isn't passing us, they'll be in the lottery with edmonton buffalo florida and NYI

  6. Sedins inspired by Sundin Focus on: NHL: Swedish twins credit countryman for their transformation into scoring machines
IAIN MACINTYRE, Canwest News Service Published: Tuesday, February 02, 2010

Ever the scamp, Mikael Samuelsson amused himself Saturday morning by switching the dressing-room name plates of Daniel and Henrik Sedin.

And since he didn't switch the actual Sedins, the Toronto media generally misidentified the twins and attributed Henrik's quotes to Daniel and vice-versa in reports leading up to that night's game.

There was no mistaking the Vancouver Canucks' brilliance on the ice, as the brothers toyed with the Toronto Maple Leafs as Samuelsson had toyed with reporters, emphatically demonstrating how dominant they've become. The Sedins and their triplet, Alex Burrows, drove a third-period comeback by scoring all the Canuck goals in a 5-3 victory against the Maple Leafs.

Canucks' Henrik Sedin demonstrates scoring prowess against Carey Price during a 7-1 romp over the Habs Oct. 7.

By Sunday morning, Toronto general manager Brian Burke, whose team is 29th in the National Hockey League but didn't look even that good in the final period Saturday, had exorcised a third of the Maple Leaf lineup in two multi-player trades. But he can't get the Sedins, as he did at the draft for Vancouver 11 years ago, and there are no other players like them.

Like their name plates, they have changed suddenly this season. They have transformed themselves from mere elite, first-line players into dynamic, world-class scorers. And this change has nothing to do with Samuelsson, but a lot to do with another Swede, Mats Sundin.

It turns out the Mats factor was not the disappointing 28 points in 41 games the one-year Canuck produced last season for $8.6 million U.S., but the impact Sundin's unwavering professionalism had on Daniel and Henrik.

"We have a different attitude toward the game," Daniel said before the Canucks travelled Sunday to Montreal for tonight's game against the Canadiens. "Looking at Mats, he had a tough start. It didn't bother him. He just came to the rink and did the same things over and over again. He knew it was going to pay off. He still kept his head high and by the playoffs he was awesome.

"We've always put a lot of pressure on ourselves. You learn to deal with that. But Mats put us over the top to see how he handled things."

Henrik said: "To see Mats out there, struggling, getting criticized, but still keeping his shifts short - he never played for himself. I think that's been a key for us."

The Sedins couldn't get out of their way sometimes in difficult games, so encumbered were they with living up to expectations. The best example of this, Henrik said, was the 2007 Stanley Cup playoffs when the twins seemed to suffocate under pressure against the Anaheim Ducks and Dallas Stars. Unable to score, they changed their game, tried to do more and instead got worse.

"We just pushed so hard and couldn't get anything going and we were minus-10," Henrik said. "We just gave up chance after chance the other way. We tried so hard to get chances and beat those five guys from the other team by ourselves, instead of doing the easy thing like dumping pucks in and letting them make the mistakes."

It sounds simplistic, but what the twins have learned is to manage emotions, trusting themselves and their ability. They are great players. They can create scoring chances against anyone. Eventually they score.

Learn to read what I just posted moron.

go back to the kings page u whiny bitch lol, Sundin was a terrible signing and did nothing for this team

the Sedins became great players inspite of him, they were improving every year and he just happened to be a part of it. ok so they admired his professionalism, so what what do you think they're going to say? they probably idolized the guy growing up

  7. without Mats Sundin, the Sedins would not have developed into Art Ross players, ask them yourself.

    You do realize we had

    Sedin-Sedin-Burrows

    Kesler-Sundin-Demitra

back then. That was one of the best top 6 in the league.

    Idiot

you do realize that the Sedins were putting up 80+ points before they played with Sundin right?

but yes clearly playing half a season with Sundin made them win their Art Ross trophies

    idiot
