I don’t understand why people are so worried. Either he signs an extension or the Canucks will get a king’s ransom for him. It would be great to keep him. Don’t get me wrong, but his value is rising, if we can’t.

This management team has shown a willingness to move on from players that are asking for more than the team is willing to pay. Which I agree with. I don't like the idea of one or two players getting 25% of the salary cap.

This off season is dragging, come Allvin do something, anything so I can analyze it for the next 2 months

even a fin extension will do

I don't know for sure but I think we should consider letting fin go at the end of his contract.I think we need a mascot that is quicker above the ice.Speed is more important than brute force.

  3. A train engineer with a so so track record, is operating a train. When he sees 3 children playing on the track. He tries to stop but is unable to stop in time. All the kids are killed. He ends up being charged and convicted for murder,as they thought he should have been able to stop in time. The penalty is execution by electric chair. On execution day he asks for 3 bananas for his last meal. They secure him to the electric chair and flip the switch,he doesn't die.So they try once more, again he doesn't die.So he gets to go free.Years later while walking down the street he is recognized by one of the people on the execution team. This person still amazed by the survival of the electric chair had to ask, what the bananas had to do with him surviving the electrocution. He replies nothing,I'm just a lousy conductor.

  4. I haven't been to any Rangers games in years.Even though I live in Kitchener.I have a hard time supporting them because of their name. But if Hunter is still on their team next year I think I will give it a go and support this young man.Maybe at least go to the teddy bear toss again.

Not that the inability to draft Bedard made me think about this (ok, maybe a bit), but why is this kind of system of forced servitude even in existence any more?  Like why are incoming players subject to being drafted to teams that they may not want to play for (leaving them with limited options to exit that sort of sphere of influence), and then being stuck as an RFA for teams that benefit by haivng them for pennies on the dollar if they are generational phenoms?

Like, this is supposed to be a capitalist society, wages should be calculated on a fair basis as determined by the market, and not constrained by the collective bargaining agreement; this is also supposed to be an enlightened society that should have done away with slavery, and yet, young players have no say in where they want to sign contracts with.

Instead, we have in essence young players treated like slaves at market, where their professional fate is determined by antiquated systems, and whose freedom to choose their employer can only happen when they've bought it themselves  after the 6 or 8 years of forced servitude they need to endure first.

It's almost like we're in 2023, but the leage is still stuck thinking it's 1623.

To add to this sometimes players can be mishandled during this period.Such as getting proper ice time, guidance.I just discussed this with a apprentice we have if he is displeased he can move on to an employer that he feels is treating him fairly.Tough luck for these draftees. Lets hope he pulls a Tavares. Oh and to stay on topic welcome to Vancouver Tom.

Guys, God does not give a crap about the Vancouver Canucks or its fanbase. If he cared the team would have already won the Cup. Accept that this is a forsaken team and enjoy the small victories along the way. I will follow this team knowing that they may never win a Cup.

My thoughts exactly. Getting to obsessed with winning the cup can really take the enjoyment of supporting this team. Don't get me wrong I would like to witness the Canucks winning it all.

To be fair the kid had serious chronic migraine issues. If not for that, he would be a heck of an nhler player right now.

That's the thing, it's not always a for sure thing. So many things can alter the development and advancement. Injury, health, family issues can put a twist on development. Since we are out of the playoff race I agree the higher the pick the better. But you just can't predict the outcome of a players development.

I'm waiting for the day when half the rink goes "TOLO!" and the other half responds "PILO!", much like that aquatic game "Marco Polo".

That's got to be a thing if he makes it. Like the louing or my favorite Harold for Snepsts.
