We should absolutely let these idiots die since they are causing people who actually have functioning brains to have their health care compromised.  It's time to stop making excuses for them and let Darwinism do its thing since they clearly have zero respect for the health of others and have willingly turned themselves into walking biohazards.

Wow. You're a very hateful person. I hope you eventually get the help you need.

He's not wrong, although it's certainly sickening that we're wasting money on going to that length to keep antivaxxers alive on our dime.  Send em home with some horsey paste and let them do their own research.

Whatever, I think your viewpoint is gross. If you honestly feel we should allow a certain segment of human beings to die because they don't trust or want a specific medicine, &^@# you. It's shameful that this crap is allowed on this site.

We did this a few pages back

A study, one of the most comprehensive to date (as of this time) says there is NO evidence it is less severe or milder or leads to less hospitalizations/long term health issues.

Again, important to note it is preliminary and not peer reviewed but is the most comprehensive to date.  I think it will be another month before the cards totally shake out.  SA has a far healthier and younger population than people in teh UK/Canada/USA etc with far less people carrying already existing health issues.

SA ALSO has an issue in that an estimated 6 out of 7 cases goes unreported and due to stigmas people who actually do die don't often get brought to hospital or put in to a case log either.

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/12/18/no-evidence-omicron-milder-than-delta-british-researchers-say

British researchers say they have found “no evidence” that the Omicron coronavirus variant is milder than Delta, casting doubt on the cautious optimism of some experts that the new strain may not be as virulent and not overwhelm healthcare systems.

The study by Imperial College London (ICL) on Friday – released just as British officials reported record COVID-19 cases for the third consecutive day, with a rise to 93,045 new infections – also found that the risk of reinfection with Omicron is more than five times higher than Delta.

No evidence? That sounds pretty silly. SA was hit hard by previous waves - if the young and healthy thing was true then previous waves would reflect it.

There is data available that provides at least some evidence: https://boriquagato.substack.com/p/omincron-in-denmark-looking-exceedingly

This would be very good news, indeed. Let’s hope it keeps going in this direction.

You do realize that 90% of infections are in the non vaccinated, right?  You’re creating a false equivalency.  Get vaccinated.

I am - no need to make assumptions.

I don't know where your 90% comes from, but you're taking an incredibly complex situation and trying to make it simple. Unfortunately, it's not that simple.

This is a garbage comment. All the people who've lost loved ones to COVID are not paranoid, they're mourning.

Women, blacks and minorities were not posing a threat to others...they were just being human beings.  Unvaccinated people are giving these variants a path to burn through and keep cycling out there in the population.  It's a little different and comparing them is really an injustice to those groups...who were targeted unfairly.  The unvaccinated are going against science and health experts and are causing a crisis in our healthcare system.

    Please.

Please, let's remember that fully vaccinated people can carry just as much viral load as the unvaccinated. This means fully vaccinated people are also giving these variants a host to continue to mutate.

Turning on any segment of the population so it's "us against them" is never a good thing - history has taught us that.

I lost myself a TON of people today off of my social media lists.  Some very triggered people.

So, BC just instituted a temporary vaccine passport to go in to effect in Sept.

If you're comparing this to nazi Germany take yourself off of my list now because I have no time or desire to deal with that level of selfish ignorance.
Nobody is murdering your family and marching your children at gun point to a gas chamber. You've lost no freedoms with this new temporary rule. You've lost no rights.

Trying to conflate this temporary rule to that of the most murderous regime in modern history highlights your selfishness and I don't want anything to do with it.
While I do not agree with the idea of a passport like this being a government mandate, I have less issue with that than I do the idea of people being so self entitled and ignorant that they think being asked to produce the same level of ID you'd have to have to buy smokes is the same as living under nazi rule.

So kindly stop your petulant whining or kick rocks.

It is a temporary rule, though? I haven't looked at it much, so it would be relieving if they indeed mentioned it being temporary.

I agree with you, but it's disturbing seeing people in France given wristbands if they're vaccinated/unvaccinated, and the scenes in Australia are troubling as well.

I think we should all be a little concerned at the power being thrown around by governments around the world. If you give them an inch, they will certainly take a mile and not give it back.

I think games would be awfully boring without game management by the officials, and part of that is as standards change a bit as the game goes on the importance goes up.  It creates tension and anticipation.  As frustrating as it can be, don't tell me it doesn't keep you glued to the tv knowing that there's going to be an even up penalty coming soon.

.. waiting for an even up penalty isn't what keeps me glued to my seat, watching two teams battle it out does.

These guys are refs, not game managers. As players, it's brutal to get away with something throughout the game just to have it called late in the third to even things up. That's not what refs get paid to do (or at least it shouldn't be). There are rules for a reason, and refs need to follow them consistently.

If we want to create excitement by gifting teams PPs to make it interesting then just do it. We can turn hockey into a Japanese game show.

Dahlen didn't force Bennings hands. Benning could have solved this in multiple ways without laying the full blame on Dahlen.

Since we don't know exactly what went wrong it's hard for anybody to take a stand.

What ways would those be? If a player doesn't want to play on the farm team, forcing you to trade him, what do you tell the media?

if you are not watching Boeser , then what games are you watching? 9 points in 10 games is nothing to sneeze at

So you're saying Boeser has looked like the Boeser we all fell in love with in his rookie year to you?

Remember when he hit the crossbar in OT from outside the blueline against the Leafs? That kid believed he could score from anywhere and he could. I haven't seen that from him lately.

I only hope, that when he scores 15, or even 20 goals this year that people give him some credit.  All the hate is a little much.

To be clear, I don't mean to hate on him, I just expect more. If you single him out when watching live, his lack of hockey IQ and fitness is apparent.

I'm a Canucks fan and I want him to do well. I hope he can mature before it's too late.

  11. Went to the arena for the second group today (well, end of the first group). Had my 3 and 1 year old all over me, but managed to take some of it in.

Sutter stayed behind and signed autographs for a good 15 minutes after their session.

Petey stayed around for almost half an hour taking pictures and signing stuff.

Miller has a deadly shot. Not a lot of guys were scoring in the drills, but he was.

Stetcher came to camp ready to go.

Gadjovich was exhausted during the drills - not sure about the bag skate as I had to leave before that.

A lot of the guys were all business. Not a lot of smiles/joking around.

Hughes is so shifty, and has a sneaky shot from in close. Looked great.
