  1. What a joke. Canucks beating up on teams that aren’t even trying and giving themselves false hope. Ruining our chance at drafting an elite talent in a top heavy draft. Only to overpay in free agency and make another half-assed attempt to make the playoffs. There’s no worse position for a team to be in, stuck in the middle of the pack. You need the best players to win and for that you need to draft as high as possible.

Leave it to CDC to whine about the Canucks decreasing their lottery odds a whopping 2.5% from 6% to 3.5%.

I don’t think you understand the importance of drafting as high as you can. We could’ve had Zegras in 2019 but we went on a meaningless late season run and dropped down in the draft, missing out on him by 1 spot. We’re just repeating our mistakes again lol

Bad pick. He's like Virtanen without the high-end skating. Also has character issues. Cam Robinson hates it.

Think that’s a terrible comparison, Virtanen only had his speed and wicked shot. Klimovich is an average skater so he relies more on his hands and positioning.

    Hypothetically Speaking

    Hughes goes first,
    Kakko goes second,

    Byram goes third,

    Dach goes fourth,
    Cozens goes fifth,

    Turcotte goes sixth,

    Boldy goes seventh,

    Caufield goes eighth,

    Podkolzin goes ninth...

Who are you picking at 10?

I'm running to the podium and picking zegras

  5. How awesome would it be if we actually won the 1st overall pick. Canucks would be for the first time in franchise history picking 1st overall, with the draft being held in Vancouver. I want Quinn Hughes to be on the podium announcing the selection of his brother, would be one of the greatest moments in draft history.

Nope, you are wrong.  know better than to judge a 17 or 18 year old prospect.

Lmao all I said is I'd prefer a certain player that I've had more exposure to over an unknown player. Clearly you didn't know better when you lost your sh*t after we traded Shinkaruk for Granlund. Move on...

Got a chuckle from some of the draft day posts about Gaudette.....there were a lot of positive one too.

Lol I bet you've never made a bad judgement before? Move on...

That’s incredible skill.  Lind takes the pass, absorbs it, and shoots it all in one motion.  I don’t think I’ve seen a player do that before - taking a wrist shot directly off a pass.

Only an elite few like kucherov, boeser and ovechkin can do that.

  9. I thought Lind was pretty good. Made some smart plays with the puck, nearly had a breakaway, moved the puck around well. He did look like he was floating ,and he got pushed around a bit. But you can definitely tell he's a smart player with and without the puck.

The thing with Baertchi is that he isn't a liability defensively.

Wasn't that the whole reason why Calgary traded him in the first place? The defense part of his game can be worked on in the AHL. It's his elite playmaking ability and goal scoring that makes him such a promising player, similar to Baertschi when he got traded to Vancouver.

  11. Yeah he's a very smart player. Very good at moving the puck up and being in position for the pass. Could definitely make the WJC roster especially if he adds some strength and explosiveness over the summer.

If the rumours were true, and there was a potential deal of Tanev and both seconds for the 3rd overall. I'd take the gamble. It's a steep price but Vilardi and Horvat down the middle would get us contending for a playoff spot again in 2 years. He's going to be a beast.

I think dallas would want our 5th in any sort of deal with their 3rd, but if we can walk out of the draft with Vilardi and Makar, and they reach their full potential, this could go down as one of the best drafts in our franchise's history.

  13. Don't think Vilardi will be there for our pick. My next choice would be cody glass. In my eyes he can be that #1 playmaking center, I'd say he's up there with nico and nolan in terms of playmaking ability. He has the 3 attributes that scouts covet the most; Skating, size and hockey IQ. Put him with some quality goal scorers on his wing and I think he could be our #1 center moving forward.

It's funny how you see what you want to see. Sure vilardi has 3 assists. Looks good if that's what you see. I seen one of those assists as an easy d to d pass. I also seen him flub hard on a good chance 1 timer. We draft who we draft so I'm not going to play favorites right now. All i know is if I were drafting I'd be picking glass.

He just got another assist after working the puck down low on the boards using his size and skills.
